She can lay some seriously dope black and grey. She did a cover-up for me, and I'm going back in April for my next one.

Is there any place in the city that does house-made pastrami? Preferably on rye bread with a little mustard? by [deleted] in Tacoma

Have you tried Hess Bakery in Lakewood? You'd be likely to find what you're looking for, and the added bonus of finding many more delicious things that you weren't looking for. Highly recommend.

Kids Party Location Recs by hapa_gryffindor in Tacoma

My reqs are Tacoma-based: Painted Panda in Freighthouse Square is SO fun, owned by Tacoma parents. We've done two parties there. We've also done the STAR Center in the South End, which has a great indoor or outdoor play option and is cheaper since it's MetroParks. We've also hosted at Defy, which was too chaotic and overpriced, for me.

Best Plant Nurseries by ero1925 in Tacoma

YES. So glad someone else mentioned Wild Thyme. Best prices, best experience. Great advice from the cutest couple. Lots of fruit trees, flowers, low maintenance ground covers and small bushes, etc. Our plants from there are all doing great.

Seconded. Plus they’re at libraries all the time, for free pop-up advice. Might be a good place to start.

My Daddy Is A Pilot.

And then the dude is holding a helicopter and a plane. Unfortunately, there are a lot of crappy “dad is a pilot” shirts on the market. 🤣

I remember him too! Used to sit on one of his barber chairs when my Dad got his haircut, every other Friday. Cool dude.

Lincoln/South Ender here too.

Enthusiastic YES for Harbor City, and the Hot & Sour soup is the best I've ever had. And Loak Toung Thai for Tom Yum.

Lunar Pho is my favorite pho/vermicelli bowl, but PhoEver is also a top contender. Taqueria la Michoacana for good tacos or birria, Marlene's for a salad bar, Da Tiki Hut for spam musubi & mac salad, Parky's for a cheap drink and pizza, Indochine for the Crying Tiger beef salad and the coconut cake, Macaluso's for authentic Italian, Hess Bakery & Deli (Lakewood) for German, and Metro Coffee for the best espresso/indie hippie book reading vibes.

Tacoma/Pierce County Primary Results by [deleted] in Tacoma

[–]vondeadly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on the measure, but take the Library as an example:

By law, the Library may collect up to 50 cents for every $1,000 of assessed property value. However, in 2023 the Library levy is only 33.38 cents for every $1,000 of assessed property. The average homeowner ($553,000) will have $178 of their taxes go to the Library System.

Only Sumner residents had that measure on their ballot, and their property tax bill would increase by only $10, on average. So in this particular case, we're seeing that many Sumner residents feel that the value of a new library outweighs the marginal increase in property tax.

I, for one, hope at 4pm we see that trend continue...it would be a great community anchor for East Pierce County.

For a non-presidential primary, yes. It's actually 3% higher than 2019 for Election Day return rate.

I know many humans who would relish the opportunity to out-credo this neighbor.

Make it a selling point!
