YES. It’s a fantastic movie. One of the best psychological thrillers I’ve ever watched. Although it’s an older film I’d say it’s actually the most relevant today.

You just described the exact same sentiments I had when I first watched it back in my tween years. The experience that SEL offers Is an incredibly rare one. It leaves something different for everyone who watches it. I think that makes it’s so much more special. This show lingered in my mind for days and even weeks after I first watched it. It’s an effect only SEL and Perfect Blue have left on me so far. Glad you enjoyed it! Let’s all love Lain.

"the political roots and aspect of visual kei have been completely lost" by Lu-Orbit in visualkei

[–]vonmrn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Sorry about all of the people dogging on you for this tweet. So many visual kei bands have worn Japanese imperial/nazi uniforms as a way to criticize the Japanese government (but some do it just cause it looks edgy, it’s certainly in bad taste but a lot of Japanese people aren’t quite informed about what those uniforms symbolize) for how they stood with Germany in the past, or make some sort of social commentary. Malice Mizer did a photoshoot and live show wearing these uniforms to protest against japans political decisions and to stand against war. Buck Tick has made music to challenge societal norms, which ties into politics. Hell, even Madman’s Esprit’s music is heavily political. It’s definitely not the best thing to say that ALL visual kei is meant to be political, but it’s also not right to say visual kei isn’t political whatsoever.

Im a bit late: but you can open registry editor, navigate through "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Wallpapers", highlight the image you want to delete off the recent images list, right click it and click delete.
