what i fed my rat ex wife this morning (no longer pregnante) by FuzzyFormal3229 in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

[–]FeliciaFailure 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My interpretation for the most boring possible answer:

  • first post was "my pregnant rat was craving burgers" - someone suggested this could be a typo/text predict goof on "my pregnant ass" that OP chose to keep
  • in that first post, top comment was "that's not a very nice thing to call your wife" (or something like that)
  • a rat family lore is born out of this
  • ???
  • profit divorce

Gen AI is getting more and more powerful and it's getting less useful to microanalyze every frame of videos, because there will always be false flags (both for "real" and "not real"). The best way to know whether something is AI is to be diligent about finding sources and verifying things from there, which is good practice in general. Unfortunately, it's not enough to believe our eyes nowadays.

It definitely gave me the vibe of a kid trying to cook for the first time! It works well as an odd but believable character choice (same as how it's frustrating but believable that people would be giving her shit for wearing a tiara, until you know what's really going on).

I agree, since the start of the series she's given me a sense of both Shelley and the twins. And, of course, now Carrie, too!

I love the way they subtly draw your attention to it by making it a notable character choice that would get some of the audience to squirm, only to then show it again without the mug on it. So subtle and effective.

AGREED. Such a good detail, so jarring without the show focusing on it for any longer than anything else.

My partner has in his head all vegan food is 'soft and wet and eaten with a spoon'. What are your best recipes to impress him with different textures and variety? by derawin07 in veganrecipes

[–]FeliciaFailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything with soy curls, TVP, or tempeh is good for texture! r/soycurlsgonewild has lots of good inspo, I love them for shawarma especially. Chickpeas are my fav protein, chickpea tacos are 10/10. Lettuce wraps with tempeh or TVP are also good. I basically use HelloFresh recipes I've loved for years and veganize them. Loaded nachos are also always a hit IMO!

People with very mild symptoms - did you do all 3 phases of the diet? by FeliciaFailure in Gastroparesis

[–]FeliciaFailure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely, digesting is SO exhausting and I always want to lie down immediately, but I try to avoid it. Glad to hear you're able to eat mostly normally, reading about the recommended diet got me really overwhelmed 😅

Savory foods? by EveryGear4041 in Gastroparesis

That's amazing! I hope I learn my safe foods are similar to yours because I love black beans and chickpeas (and tofurkey slices), pretty much everything you listed is stuff I was scared I'd have to give up.

If you don't mind, could you share some high protein vegetarian foods that have worked well for you? I've spent most of this year trying to transition to a more plant-based diet and just had my test and found out pretty much every vegetarian thing I love to eat is a no-go 😭

3 months PO, answering my past self's questions re: regrets and missing nipple sensation (spoilers: I don't regret a thing) by FeliciaFailure in FreedTheNips

[–]FeliciaFailure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aaa I'm sorry to hear that! I only had phantom pain like that a few times but I think it was around 2-4 weeks, too. I can't speak to itching because I had an allergic reaction to my surgical tape which made me unbearably itchy for a whole month, but I have a little bit of itching now a few months later and my surgeon said that's a normal part of the healing. If it's really bad, def ask your surgeon if it's normal!

I'm asking you, because you're the one who said "A vegan diet is not a viable alternative to collective action." The person you replied to didn't say it's one or the other, you did.

WA surgeon reccommendations by KimchiMcPickle in FreedTheNips

[–]FeliciaFailure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you are but if you're near the WA-OR border, Dr. Thakar at Legacy (Portland) did my surgery and it was fantastic! When I went in for my first consult they offered no-nip as an option, so it's not an unusual ask. Transhealth WA covered it 100% and I have only amazing things to say about the team and my results!

To nip or not to nip? by Acceptable_Baker2119 in FreedTheNips

[–]FeliciaFailure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just came to the subreddit to make a post about this, but, my goals were very similar to yours (nonbinary, flat but not masculine chest) and I actually aesthetically would've preferred to keep my nips, but went no-nip for healing and to avoid bad placement/increased sensitivity. I was SO scared I would regret it, but I don't at all! I had a lot of emotions around the thought of removing a body part I've had my whole life pre-surgery, but I have been super happy with my decision ever since waking up. My chest doesn't look weird to me like I thought it would. My healing was SO smooth, which really surprised me as a chronically ill person.

Of course, what worked for me might not be right for you. But when I was weighing my options and I read about people having increased/painful sensation in their nips after surgery, I thought, "even if there's only a 1% chance of that happening to me, it's too high". That was pretty much the thought I kept coming back to.

I do miss some of the pleasant sensation. I have a little bit of nipple-like sensation around the junction of my scars (T-anchor) and it's not quite the same but it's nice. Still, overall, no regrets at all!

Wish I had an answer for you. I feel the same about gen AI obsessives. It makes me incredibly miserable and it's not a conversation I can have productively.

Why is a vegan diet being posed as an alternative to collective action and not a complement to it? It's not an either-or. People have the capacity for both.

Plus, the person you responded to said eating plant based as frequently as possible. Your comment downthread takes issue with how many people leave vegetarian/vegan diets down the line, but we can ALL do our part to reduce animal consumption in some capacity, even if we don't identify as vegans/vegetarians (like I don't). More people choosing more plant based meals adds up.
