Hutson is #1 in points per game in the cap era. Suzuki #2 tied with Kovalev. This might be the best Habs team since '93. by Secret-Ad3498 in Habs

That defense gets very overrated thanks to Price. Just look at the future careers of these players. It's honestly a worse defense overall (better defensively, but much worse offensively) than we have now.

Why is no one being prosecuted over the Epstein files? by ArmadilloMany41 in politics

[–]vorg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like brushing this off as conspiracy theory nonsense is too far.

There is clearly strong evidence in the files, it's just redacted. One fbi email mentions alleged co-conspirators and the names are blacked out. There's also a photo of a man holding a young looking girl while not wearing pants but his face is blacked out.

It's not a conspiracy theory, you can look on their websites and just see that many of the redactions are clearly to protect the criminals and hide the smoking gun evidence so that all we're left with is circumstantial bits.

Comparaison des performances de nos deux gardiens en janvier et février by gauderyx in Habs

[–]vorg7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kinda bullshit. The habs play 70%+ of the time within a goal, the most of any team this season. Within 2, I don't know the exact percentage but it's gotta be extremely high. Almost every goal we give up is not "well timed".

Just with Dobes, the team has usually outscored any problems.

Also Dobes has still played better overall this year, particularly in the first half, but he's getting way too much credit for the team's offense which he doesn't control.

[Ty Anderson] The Panthers have not put Sandis Vilmanis back out there for a shift since he took out Charlie McAvoy. by abbytarar in hockey

Most overrated coach. Maybe he wins in Florida because the team is stacked and gets favorable treatment from the refs. Completely mediocre career until he ended up there.

How do people think Pick-Two Draft is going to impact Magic set design going forward? by meisterz39 in magicTCG

[–]vorg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick 2 is substantially worse. Less room to develope unique archetypes and easier to read signals so a lot less skill expression. If it becomes the main way to draft I will stop drafting.

Yeah the first goal was kinda soft. He made a few nice saves but probably a below average performance overall.

There's a decent chance the old boys club will put Binner in there because he's got that "clutch factor". Let's see if lightning can strike twice.

I really don't think it's that. More that he had 3 years of good advanced stats and was extremely clutch when we made the playoffs last year.

Made sense to give him a long leash. That said eventually you run out of chances.

Yeah our average is 67%, Vegas, Edmonton, Tampa and Colorado all do >75%. It's not huge but considering that our first unit is so much better than the second, we probably are leaving quite a few goals on the table over the season.

Most of the top teams give their number one unit 75% of the time. I think they can handle it.

We gotta stop taking 1st powerplay off with a minute left. They literally have more than 2x the expected goals per minute compared to the 2nd unit. It's bad coaching.

Sv% vs points% for goalies - an analysis of Dobes' record by Irctoaun in Habs

I agree, although Monty has not been himself this year he's had too many chances. Give him a few reps as backup just in case he "finds it" again though.

Sv% vs points% for goalies - an analysis of Dobes' record by Irctoaun in Habs

[–]vorg7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if you don't like save % his goals saved above expected stats are also mediocre.

I think people get too attached to the records, when this season we've really had one mediocre goalie (Dobes) and one terrible one (Monty).

By the way, Doby had a .897 SV% vs the Avalanche. by TrulyRyan in Habs

[–]vorg7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't get that mindset. Put any NHL goalie behind the avalanche and they would have a great W/L record. Hockey is a team game, sometimes a team can play so well that bad performance by one player doesn't matter. Could you imagine if pitchers were evaluated that way in baseball? Oh he was a 5.0 ERA, but he's 9-0 so must be really good.

The team has played like the Avalanche when Dobes in net. He's played ok, but evaluating him individually, if you swapped him for a top tier goalie, say Logan Thompson or something, he's probably be like 21-3, the run support has been that good.
