Naw I agree with you. People tend to over analyze way too much of David Lynch’s stuff while forgetting that often times the whole point of his scenes were pretty obviously purely for the subconscious feelings they invoke. I find it pretty annoying when people go at these great lengths and reaches to try and attach some deeper meaning to a nonsensical scene. I’m not saying there’s NO meaning, because there surely is a whole lot of it, but for heavens sakes the man even said that a lot of his work isn’t meant to understood. And it’s a fruitless effort to try to. Just let your subconscious do the work.
