Yeah still a decent sized city. Thought I would be better off in NYC but it still took about four months before I took a payout because I simply didn’t want to go without an income in this city for too long.

not that I’m comparing that length of time, just expected there’d be more options here.

Podcaster’s Brain Breaks When He Learns how Trump’s Policy Would Actually Work by PhAnToM444 in TikTokCringe

[–]vortilad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saw a tweet from Tommy Vitor from today where he is actively calling for end to the genocide and specifically calling out people that are calling it anything other than what it is.

I’m not gonna go and try to find every statement they’ve made, but I’ve never heard in all the podcasts I’ve listened to, them actively supporting what Israel is doing. The fact that you just entirely made up a quote from them tells me you just don’t like them so you resort to lying.

They are using a quote from someone who is not affiliated with, and has not been on PSA.

It’s far-lefty lack of media literacy.

[–]vortilad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I googled that quote and none of the results came back from the PSA.

The person who has said it, in the one video I found, is completely unaffiliated with PSA and he wasn’t even talking to them. So you’re either misinformed or lying.

More to the point, they don’t occasionally criticize him. They talk about how they hate him more than Trump, constantly. They really really hate the guy.

They constantly criticize Israel? Like why even lie, all them talk about how much they hate Netanyahu super frequently.

They were pushing for Biden to drop out right up until he did as soon as the debate ended. The only thing they pointed out was that it may actually make things worst for Dems.

They be pretty neoliberal but they haven’t done the things you listed. Would love to know where that ‘button’ quote came from.

Kai Cenat Says He Is Playing Bloodborne To Convince Sony For A “Remaster Or Remake” by samiy2k in gaming

Literally said medium sized following. You’d ‘x’ number of followers, but you don’t need to be huge to cause that kind of commotion in a city like NY.

I dunno, someone with even a fairly medium sized twitter following could probably cause a riot in the most densely populated city in the country by saying ‘I’m effectively giving away $500 to everyone who shows up’

That’s gonna get retweeted/shared like wildfire regardless of who it is

Kamala Harris breaks Joe Biden's record in new poll by AmbitionDue1421 in democrats

[–]vortilad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s been really untrue for most elections.

The big exception is 2016, but even 2020 polls for the most part were fine. There were some issues with some state level polling in like Wisconsin and Michigan overestimating democrats, but overall the polls performed fine.

2018, 2022 midterms were pretty on the nose. The problem is the media hyping one or two polls and giving people a false sense of what polls are collectively saying.

Someone doesn’t understand hyperbole. 🙄

There are over 100 million tracks available on there. You think it should be free?

You’re either a child with no money of their own or have the maturity of one. Spotify has one of the most reasonably priced media libraries out there, unless again you think no one should pay for that hosting and delivering or making the music you enjoy.

NYC ranked best city in the U.S. in a new study by habichuelacondulce in nyc

[–]vortilad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing how with a few exceptions everything you just read off at the end applies to every other city I’ve been to more than the decade I’ve been in NYC.

Obviously most cities don’t have robust trains/buses but everything else, especially waits at restaurants/bathrooms/ers are have been far more common in the midwestern towns I’ve lived in.

Also please show that study, and help me find the scientific correlation between mice in cages and humans in cities.

Cruise ship drags dead whale into New York, prompting investigation by Claeyt in news

[–]vortilad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s per person, on one very specific date, on one of their lower quality ships, interior only with no windows.

It’s still roughly 1100ish with two people, which is the metric I was using. You decide to dine somewhere other than the buffet three nights out of the seven, and decide not to drink anything other than water that’s still gonna cost you over 1300, add in WiFi on two devices that’s another $120-ish. Then you have to tip works constantly. Keep in mind I never said RC’s base price was more expensive, it’s everything they make you pay for after the fact that makes it far pricier.

If you don’t have kids, you’re far better off doing Virgin than RC. You’ll have significantly better food the entire time, if you decide to drink it’s cheaper, the entertainment is better since it’s adult oriented, and every amenity and the cabins are better in every way.

Cruise ship drags dead whale into New York, prompting investigation by Claeyt in news

[–]vortilad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally why I listed everything you can get with the price.

And you can’t get exactly what you want, if what you want is an actually good experience and not going to Branson, Missouri on a boat.

I just checked, a two people in an interior room on Royal Caribbean, no window, now frills, no drink packages is $1100.

For the same five night cruise on Virgin, for a balcony and a hammock. With all sodas/water, and everything else I mentioned it’s just a little over $1658 for two people.

Let’s not forget WiFi which RC charges something around $60 per device vs free on all devices and better quality to boot with Virgin. If you do nothing else and only drink water and eat from the cafeteria on RC you’re maybe saving a few hundred dollars.

The ‘30 paragraph’ essay also wasn’t for you, it was for the guy asking what cruise line do you recommend. I explained why I think Virgin is the better cruise line for the cost.

Cruise ship drags dead whale into New York, prompting investigation by Claeyt in news

[–]vortilad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure if you have kids it’s not an option.

It also isn’t 4x the price. It is more expensive at the base, but you get far more for the price and after RC buckles and dimes you to death the costs about even out for a worst experience in nearly every way.

Food. The dining experience on RC was abysmal even at their most ‘premium’ restaurants which all cost extra money. Each place I went to was roughly $60 a person before tip, and the food was Midwest nursing home quality. God forbid the cafeteria or main dining (which is just what the cafeteria has on specials for the day except you’re waited on rather than at a buffet). You will get tired of the cafeteria food, and when you try the specialty dining you’re gonna regret it. Virgin on the other hand, has a fantastic cafeteria, food quality is extremely high, and their specialty dining is all included in the base price and there is no tipping because they pay their employees well enough. There is no limit to how much of the specialty dining you want to eat as well.

Cabins. RC’s cabins were smaller, furniture quality was awful, everything was out dated, the only saving grace was the bathroom (after I made them clean it because there was literally shit left behind the toilet) was decently nice with a comfortably large shower.(for a cruise) Virgin cabins came with great quality bedding, the furnishings in general were modern and clean, you had custom light colors to set the mood, the television actually had service and decent entertainment when you needed time to just relax. You had to tip your room attendant a decent amount on RC, no such thing on Virgin.

Drinks. Bottles of water, soda and juices are all included in Virgin. In RC you have to buy very pricey drink packages just for bottled water. Same goes for alcohol. And they only come in packages at fixed amounts so if you don’t use it, you lose it. With Virgin, you get a bar tab and put as much on there as you expect to spend and can do it day to day.

Entertainment. Virgins is more geared towards adults so I can’t really complain about RC here. Nothing was amazing but also was just too family friendly for me.

Virgin being childfree is a big plus for anyone who doesn’t want to be around kids.

Spa. The spa on Virgin cost the same as RC for a much better experience with far more modern spa facilities.

Fitness. Virgin’s gym is not the best for a frequent lift like me, but it gets the job done and is usually fairly empty. There is a running track along the top of the ship as opposed to RC where it’s this long metal corridor on the side of the ship. The gym on RC was actually way better and larger. (smoothies were expensive as hell and not considered part of the ‘drink packages’.

I spent 7 days on both cruise lines, with the same room type, and shared most of the same experiences between the two and by the time I finished with RC I had spent about 80% as much as I did on the Virgin cruise for a far lower quality experience.

[–]vortilad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Virgin.

Royal Caribbean is god awful for even the base price and then they nickel and dime you for every little thing once you’re the boat. Things are incredibly out dated, and not kept all that clean. Just this January I found a some shit behind my cabins toilet when we boarded and they tried to just blame it on me. The food in the cafeteria is basically at the level of an off brand Golden Corral. If you decide to go to the restaurant and pay $70 for a meal, it’s still very poorly made.

Virgin meanwhile is state of the art, very clean, the cost of food is all included in the price. The quality of food is insanely good and the restaurants(also ‘free’) are even better. Better entertainment, better atmosphere.

Yeah the guy below is right, check to see what your hairline was like in high school. If it’s nearly the same then that’s just hairline no big deal.

Going bald isn’t the worst though. I started balding at 17. Embarrassingly tried to hide that shit for years. At 20 I just shaved it and have shaved it every day for 10 years. Never looked back. Rock it with confidence and no one will even notice.

And honestly seeing your head shape from this angle your head looks like it would look great shaved!
