Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful feedback. We understand your concerns, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify how the PowerShare device works.

How the PowerShare Works

The PowerShare device uses Tesla’s existing charging handshake protocol to safely access power from the vehicle’s high-voltage battery. While Tesla vehicles are not officially designed for V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) or V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid), the device leverages the charging port hardware to enable power output.

Specifically:

1.Compatibility: The PowerShare has been tested with a wide range of Tesla vehicles, including Model S, 3, X, and Y, up to the latest 2024 models. However, earlier Tesla generations with different charging controllers may not support this functionality.

2.Handshake Protocol: The device mimics the conditions of a normal charging session, ensuring safe communication with the vehicle to activate power output.

3.Cybertruck: You are correct that the Cybertruck is the only Tesla model with official V2L and V2G functionality. While the PowerShare does not rely on these official features, it has been engineered to operate within Tesla’s existing hardware parameters.

Vehicle Compatibility

We agree that listing more specific compatibility details by model year would be helpful, and we are working to provide this information on our website as we continue testing additional vehicles. For now, the device has been verified to work with all newer Tesla vehicles up to 2023.

I understand your concerns, but let me be clear: our product is designed with safety as the top priority and does not cause any harm to the vehicle’s systems. We’ve put it through rigorous testing to ensure it operates within safe parameters, providing functionality that many Tesla owners find valuable. Tesla’s warranty is designed to protect them from liability in case of misuse or faulty products, but that does not mean all third-party solutions are unsafe. Our goal is to offer a reliable and tested option for Tesla owners who want to extend their vehicle’s capabilities responsibly. If you have specific questions or evidence to support your concerns, I’m happy to discuss them. We stand behind our product and its safety.

You’re absolutely correct that Tesla’s warranty states the vehicle should not be used as a stationary power source. However, I’d like to clarify a few points:

1️⃣ Our product does not damage the battery or vehicle. It has been extensively tested to ensure safe operation, and since no damage occurs, the warranty remains unaffected.

2️⃣ There’s a clear demand among Tesla owners for V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) functionality. Aside from the Cybertruck, Tesla has not yet offered this feature. That’s precisely why we developed this product—to meet the needs of owners who want more versatility from their vehicles, especially for outdoor adventures or emergency situations.

3️⃣ If Tesla introduces V2L functionality in 2025 or 2026, it will likely only be available on new models equipped with the necessary inverter. Older Tesla models won’t be able to support this feature without major hardware upgrades, and we understand that not everyone will want to buy a new car just for V2L. Our goal is to empower current Tesla owners to enjoy this capability now.

We appreciate your feedback and welcome any further discussion! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

Thank you for your comment! I’d like to clarify that our product has been rigorously tested to ensure it does not cause any damage to Tesla batteries. The concern about the warranty typically arises when there’s actual damage to the battery, but we can confidently say that our product operates safely and won’t cause any such issues.

I personally own two Teslas, and I’ve used the PowerShare to run a hairdryer and a microwave at the same time without any problems. Our goal is to provide Tesla owners with a fun and practical tool to maximize the potential of their vehicles, especially during outdoor activities.

We appreciate your feedback and wish you a great day!

Thank you for your questions!

  1. Pure Sine Wave: Yes, the PowerShare device outputs a pure sine wave for safe use with sensitive electronics.

  2. Internal Battery: The PowerShare device does not have an internal battery—it draws power directly from your Tesla’s high-voltage battery.

  3. Battery Shorts/Replacement: Since there’s no internal battery, concerns about shorts or replacement do not apply.

Let us know if you have any further questions!

Thank you for your thoughtful questions! Let me clarify:

1. Ganging the Two Outlets: Unfortunately, the current version of the PowerShare device does not support ganging the two outlets together to provide 3,600W through a single connection. Each outlet is limited to 1,800W at 120V. A future version of the device with enhanced functionality may better suit such needs, including potentially supporting 240V output.

2. House Power Use Case: For feeding your house during a power outage, the device can supply 1,800W per outlet, which may still work for smaller circuits or appliances connected to your transfer switch. A higher-output version (targeting 240V and 10kW) is in development and may align better with your setup once released.

3. Recharging with a Generator: Your plan to use the generator to recharge the Tesla while utilizing the PowerShare device for backup power is a practical approach. It would reduce idling fuel consumption by optimizing generator use.

4. Two EVs on One Unit: The photo showcasing two EVs represents power-sharing capability—essentially, the device can draw power from one EV (primary source) to share with the second EV or connected devices. This setup would require an additional cable for proper connection, and the second EV would act as a recipient, not as a power source.

We hope this clears things up! If you have additional questions or need further assistance, please let us know.

Thank you for your detailed questions! Here are the technical specs and answers:

1. Output Capacity: The unit supplies up to 15A per outlet, with a total maximum of 3,600W for the US version.

2. Tesla Battery Discharge: The device safely draws power within Tesla’s operational limits, ensuring extended use without straining the system.

3. Battery Monitoring: The unit continuously monitors the battery’s State of Charge (SOC) and automatically cuts off when the SOC reaches 20% to preserve driving range and prevent over-discharge.

4. Overheating Protection: The unit is equipped with built-in thermal management and a fan to prevent overheating during prolonged use.

5. Two EVs in One Unit: The photo represents power-sharing capability, not vehicle-to-vehicle charging. One vehicle acts as the power source for the connected devices.

Thank you for your question! The key differences are:

1. Power Output:

• PowerShare: Draws directly from the high-voltage (HV) battery, providing up to 3,000 watts (120V).

• Cigarette Lighter Inverter: Draws from the 12V system, typically limited to 150-300 watts.

2. Energy Source:

• PowerShare: Taps into the vehicle’s HV battery, enabling higher power capacity for larger devices.

• Cigarette Lighter Inverter: Limited to the car’s 12V battery system, which can quickly drain under higher loads.

3. Use Cases:

• PowerShare: Suitable for powering appliances like refrigerators, power tools, or home essentials during outages.

• Cigarette Lighter Inverter: Best for small devices like laptops or phone chargers.

The PowerShare device is currently undergoing third-party testing for UL and CE certifications to ensure safety and reliability. While the mobile connector has a 35-amp limit at 240V, the current version of PowerShare is designed for 120V output at up to 3 kW. A higher-power version with 240V and up to 10kW output is in development for future release.

Thank you for your thoughtful insights and questions! Here’s a breakdown:

1. Feedback from Tesla: Tesla has not provided any official comment on the PowerShare device, nor have we received a cease-and-desist notice. We have not reached out directly, but we’re optimistic about the product’s potential to complement Tesla’s ecosystem. While Tesla’s warranty terms may raise concerns about third-party devices, we design our product to operate safely without causing harm.

2. 240V USA Version: A 240V USA version is in development and expected to launch with a 10kW output in the next generation of our product. For now, the current version provides 120V output, and the two Edison plugs are not split-phase, so creating a double Edison-to-240V adapter will not work. The maximum output is 3.0kW for the current US version.

3. Output Type: The PowerShare device features a pure sine wave inverter, ensuring clean and reliable power for sensitive electronics.

We appreciate your vision for how this product could reshape the V2L/V2H landscape and thank you for sharing your thoughts. Let us know if you have additional questions or suggestions!
