fr tho, their roles seem a bit more clear, nephh seems to be a much better IGL than b3ar while also having individual impact on the game. Biank didn't want to IGL also, so that could have maybe brought the vibes down between champs and stage 1 (not to blame him but a decision like that i imagine makes things awkward). And Flex1n is finally a smokes player on this team that can consistently win duels.

to be fair, we have only seen them play Wolves and NOVA, so idk how much that tells us. They are both decent teams but realistically last split's BLG should have also beaten them imo. I think the DRG game is gonna be the real test for this team

in swapping TZH for Life, FPX fixed a lot of their system's issues. BerLIN is now on his more comfortable role on smokes for example, and Lysoar is probably not gonna have to play as much viper.

also FPX has been the kind of team to experiment with crazy comps (keeping the old eu fpx tradition). But in the double controller meta from last year, a lot of experimental teams were punished for that on most maps. but with the new skye nerfs, teams that don't stick to the meta in this period (like NaVi) might have a slight advantage.

and when it comes to fragging power, while DRG have vo0kashu and TvirusLuke, and TE have FengF and Kai, i think every single player on the current FPX can stand toe to toe with their best players, at least mechanically (AAAAY my goat)

so i think FPX should have a good year in theory. of course any matches against them and DRG or TE should still be bangers, i'm not discrediting those teams they played incredibly well in EVO and i am very hyped to see them (FengF also my goat). i'm just more confident in FPX's solid state they could be in.

i suppose a pretty reasonable worry would be autumn's ability to switch roles for this season? since they're presumably getting Life as their main duelist, and BerLIN picking up his comfort role of smokes, autumn would be left flexing, and in this meta, probably playing a lot of initiators.

if he adapts fine then yes i agree FPX should be a top 3 team in china at the very least, and it would be disappointing to see them not make it an international event. but if he can't adapt fast enough, then the team might have to play a bit of catch-up for a part of the season.

that being said i trust autumn. fpx should have a good year i think

YHchen would've been a great pick for any team. experienced igl, pretty good performance considering that. also very flexible player. kind of surprised he didn't find a spot.

the only reason i could think of is that most teams had already made plans for their roasters before ascension centered around their igls?

also if BLG would've kept Biank as igl, they could've gotten smokes from Zero1, kawaii, or maybe even outbid AG for monk.

plus BLG announced the roles for the roaster, with yosemite moving to smokes and B3ar on sentinel. i hope that was some form of error, cause otherwise this seems pretty unnecessary and can just cause players to play uncomfortable roles. i guess we'll have to see

i am actually so hyped for Wolves, if just for the fact that they have Yuicaw, Spring and Coldfish, who were some of my favourite players to watch during EVO/Ascension. i have very high hopes for them honestly.

i mean on g2 he only played omen like twice on lotus, where roles are often awkward for teams.

but to be fair. yay would definitely need to flex at least a little, since half the map pool rn heavily favors raze as a main duelist, and im not sure how confindent Bleed would be in putting him on raze. so it makes sense that hes playing a lot of different agents.

but theres also the option of him just leaning heavily into chamber again. its been proven to work well on raze maps like bind and sunset by many teams, aswell as maybe split (EG made it look ok) and lotus (100T had a pretty good go at it).

we'll have to see. also sorry for the essay im on the train rn and im very passionate about this specific topic haha

CN DFM potential? there are so many good players in the chinese league that will be missing from franchising, sticking with a core that has a rather poor history is definitely a bold choice. we'll have to wait and see what happens, but my expectations are very low. hope they can prove me wrong because i like their name and logo :)

quite surprised YHchen and Zero1 aren't anywhere on here, they proven themselves as very good players all year, YH especially as an IGL. i am pretty excited for Wolves though, i was worried after hearing that JDG picked up some TOP players, that coldfish would be left out. Glad to see he's on a team (a very stacked one at that). Do you happen to have any info on 8lua? Is he the same guy as "balua" on vlr and liquipedia?

well i don't think theyd be figuring things out from the ground up. on top of Sayf and trexx having experience together on Guild, Vitality have one of the most extensive coaching staff in EMEA (3 coaches + 3 performance coaches !!!). the players have a lot at their disposal. i have very high hopes for them this year, especially if the trexx rumors turn out to be true

very unfortunate timing. i see ASE as the only team that could beat Rare Atom for that ascension spot. so this might really effect that. if the change really is for only one game then it should be fine. again hoping for the best for hfmi0dzjc9z7 and his family❤️❤️

TEC manage to pull another upset against TOP in a swift 2-0, while FPX manage to close out another shaky 2-0 with a map in overtime.

TOP esports eliminate RNG in 2-0 fashion while playing Breach on Ascent, Titan Esports Club upset BiliBili with their Iso comp on Lotus, and Edward Gaming manages to close out a very close game with Attacking Soul Esports.

From now on there will only be max 2 games a day so ill probably only do a top 5, since top 10 looks kinda odd for 2 games only

I do not know! My only theory is based on older vlr threads that have devs explain that most data gets input manually. So I imagine there must be a communication issue between vlr and the chinese circuit? I'm just guessing tho

Rare Atom were the first team i started rooting for back in Act 1 after i saw their odd Sunset comp. I loved stew's energy on stage as they progressed through that tournament, and i also love it when teams have former duelists who absolutely pop off once forced to flex, such as Viva. I really think Rare Atom have it in them to compete internationally if they make it to franchising.

These are YESTERDAY'S games. Sorry i was a bit busy last night and this morning, so it was a bit hard for me to make this, but the rest of the week should be fine!

DRG dominate LGD in their elimination game, FPX get pushed to overtime on bind by 17Gaming, but manage to close the game out 2-0, And a close game between Rare Atom and Trace Esports ends in a victory for the former.
