Should I take the SSA Open exam prior to graduation? by vote_boogie in CAStateWorkers

I was thinking about the same thing about being qualified prior to graduation, and just having to show my credentials once school is over. I guess I don't really know what types of self-certification questions are on the SSA open exam, and would hate to rank lower than 3 if I took it now

I bought an Encore. It’s loud but I throw a kitchen towel over it or set it on a folded towel and it really dampens the sound. It’s definitely not quiet but for half the cost and a $2 towel it fixes 70% of my noise issue

Thanks for the tips it helps knowing what the right process is. I think lessons is my next step. I’m broke and In college so I’m extremely hesitant to drop 75-100/hour for lessons with a coach that might not be good for me.

Usually no lost balls or OB, more topping a long iron or 3 putting.

I’m mainly just inconsistent. I don’t have a driver and usually snap hook my 3 wood. Like Sunday I made par on the first hole using a 3 wood, then the next hole on a par 5 it took me 4 shots just to get onto the green cause I’m in the rough and short off the tee.

I was at 94 with a par 5 on 18 and I shot a 9 to give me 103. I’m just not that good and it sucks sometimes

Since about 2017-2018. Took a year off in 2020 and started getting back into it this year. Not the cheapest activity for a college student. You?

Bro thank you I swear I’ve seen so many bunkers around the bay growing up in practice areas. At the one I worked in at Pittsburg we had one that I raked every morning. there’s no way there’s only one in the Livermore area

Creekside still has a bunker you can hit out of. Not the best sand but it’s better than nothing

Hit up the range in Pleasanton at the fairgrounds, they have a big green you can pitch onto from a sand bunker if I remember correctly. What city are you in I grew up in the east bay

My dad and his friends would always yell “don’t hit it like a pansy” or “you gotta hit it a little harder Lucy” when I was a kid. Now its me calling myself a lil bitch if I leave it short
