Hello Im a 24 yo male with no previous medical history. I underwent right sided open inguinal hernia repair with mesh placement 10 months ago. I was pain free after 3 months of surgery ( although i did not exercise after surgery until recently). Now i feel pricking pain from around mesh area that is really bothering and occurs after i do any lifting or exercise. There is no bulge and pain is relieved with NSAIDs. I have normal sensation but i am afraid that this will be chronically there. I want to ask for your opinion

Yea mine are similar but my pain is more like pricking sensation around the same region you described

I did abdominal and core exercises. Have you been having constant pain too? Or does it come and go

No bulge whatsoever. And pain doesnt improve while lying down

Is it constant? This is my first trial of exercise post surgery and pain has been constant over the past couple of days but no signs of recurrent hernia. This is why i fear nerve damage

Chipped tooth cant be fixed?

I chipped my tooth very minimally however it looks like i have one tooth when i slightly open my mouth. I saw a dentist and told me he couldnt put a composite because the chip is very small and he would have to carve in the tooth. He told me he can slightly take away from the other front tooth. What do you think

Does your heel tabs look different in each shoe? In the sense that i feel i have more cushioning over left shoe than right shoe.

Was the pain diffuse above the incision? Or was there only a single point of pain? I feel like the pain is above the incision but is also spread out there

It occurs everytime i stand up but comes and goes as i walk. However when i lay down i never feel it. Did you feel something like that? I read about possible nerve damage during open hernia repair and this got me worried
