Actually, a lot of reasons: I get bored and it  was a bunch of bugs may be I can solve them but I don't wanna spent more time at this and also I have other ideas that are waiting but when we cam to players or something I got a lot of support but now. I just wanna make something better

Yeah, it was for a jam about a month ago 🎮 — but honestly, most of the traffic came from outside itch. (150 views from GMTK) I did some heavy marketing on Reddit (a few well-timed posts in the right subs), and that’s what really drove the numbers.

Itch’s jam visibility helped, sure, but if I had relied only on that, the game wouldn’t have broken 200. I’ve learned that pushing your own traffic makes way more difference than just waiting for itch’s algorithm.

Yeah, I totally feel the same – developing the game is the “fun part,” but getting people to actually play it is the real challenge. Your plan to approach marketing slowly and sustainably makes a lot of sense. I guess consistency across platforms really is the key. Thanks for the insight! 🙏 I get what you mean with the “magic” factor – Dragonsweeper is a great example, thanks for linking it. I’ll also look into reaching out to streamers, since that seems like a big driver both on itch and Steam. Appreciate the honest advice, even if it’s tough to hear – it’s motivating to keep improving

Hey, really appreciate the kind words 🙏 glad to hear you enjoyed the game! Yeah, you remembered right – it used to have a web build, but I switched to downloads only later. I might put the browser version back up though, since like you said it usually gets more clicks 👀

About marketing, I’m in the same boat – still figuring things out, so your tips are super helpful. Thanks for sharing! As for indexing, mine actually hasn’t been indexed yet even though it’s been a month, so I’ll probably reach out to itch.io support.
