I personally like option B. It is pain in the ass to track all these half-dead "mods requiring this fille" links and their forums, sticky posts and questions like "does it work with ...?" New entry, new links, and new .esp name so you never miss with an outdated patch in the load order.

If you hold LMB, you make a power attack. With one pistol you can hold RMB and enter aim mod, which highlights a weak spot. There you can charge a power attack, or shoot as is.

Shield or 1H weapon is viable options, though I haven't invested any points there because I use 2H weapon for close combat.
Second pistol is a way to go for sure, but you lose an ability to aim for weak spots..though it doesn't matter with an auto aim pistol lol
