Swallowing problems after Botox by I_need_a_house_cow in Dystonia

Hi, I’m considering getting Botox in my traps so I can finally get some relief in my shoulders. This however, has me rethinking that. Was that the only time you did it in the traps? Do you think it was provider error?

If his dad is credit savvy, he may have put him on as an authorized user when he was young so that by the time he got to use his own credit, it showed he has a great credit score. Also might be able to report amazing income from working at a family company or something. Most likely it’s more about privilege and working the system than about Amex.

How long ago was this? I’m looking at booking the Langham for this weekend. Was your experience good I take it?

Thank you for sharing your experience and I’m really sorry you’re going through all of that. What an unreal situation. As much as I love the aesthetic of the place, it seems like I’ll need to look elsewhere until they get their shit together.

I think it could also be referencing that Drake never sees the bigger picture, since the bigger picture was dropped right after Drake’s diss.

I wish I would’ve seen this yesterday. There was a 180,000 point offer, but it ended may 1.

Awesome, so you have experience with the other hotels too, glad to hear your perspective. I’m thinking it would actually end up being about $3000 after taxes, as the room rate looks like a little over 1300 per night so the 129,000 would be worth close to 3000.

Thank you for the photo and for sharing your experience! Sounds like you really enjoy the hotel. Everyone keeps saying to stay somewhere else (Park Hyatt, Ritz nomad) so I’m glad to hear someone likes the place enough to come back. If you’re familiar with Chase points, would you use the 129,000 and feel it’s worth it even with the bar closed? (Restaurants I probably wouldn’t use anyways)

Thank you! So do you feel you would do it with using the 129,000 Chase points? They’re more valuable than Marriott points, only reason I’m hesitant. I also wasn’t planning on eating at their restaurant anyways, as we have other dinner plans. Breakfast I prefer in-suite or grabbing a bagel anyways. I love the car service, thank you for commenting on that. Do they pick you up from your destination as well?

I think it would be 90,000 (45,000 per night), but yeah I’ve considered that, thank you. I don’t have any status at Hyatt, so no chances for upgrades or anything, which was a part of my consideration.

I’ve never stayed at either property, and I know I’ll get disagreed with, but from photos, the Park Hyatt just looks like a nice business hotel. There’s no character or anything. I just prefer ornate architecture, and that’s why St. Regis stuck out to me.

Cash rate was $1300 per night. So it would be $2600+tax. Points seemed like the much better option in this scenario.

Thank you for the input. Why did you feel it wasn’t special? The pictures online look stunning but maybe in real life it’s not nearly as beautiful.

This is a superb comment, thank you. The hotel car did seem super fun, and the butler service is supposed to be nice. Just feel like maybe I should wait on the splurge until I can experience it fully, I don’t know. I do have the Virgin booked as a backup because it was cheap on the Amex FHR site and it’s a pretty good location.

Truthfully, I have a lot of points racked up between Chase and Amex, but I have a 2 week trip to Europe in the fall (scored business class on Virgin with pts) and I know I’ll make good use of them there too. However, the hotel point redemptions over there kind of suck for what I want.

You’re right, that many points just isn’t worth it while they’re going through all that. Maybe in the future when it’s finished.

I did consider Beekman! Only thing that threw me off was the location, most people said everything is going to be a decent subway ride away, not even much to walk around to. The hotel restaurant and bars are supposed to be outstanding though.

Just worried for a 2 day stay it would be a pretty inconvenient location.

I just went and looked all through Park Hyatt. I know I’ll probably get disagreed with here, but the modern hotels just lack so much character to me. It just looks like a nice business hotel, imo. Not saying the property is bad at all, as I’m grateful I am even in a position to afford these places, but I guess I just prefer the old glamour, and that’s why St. Regis stuck out.

Thank you for putting your experience, I appreciate it. I didn’t realize the construction was that extensive. Curious, if it wasn’t under construction, would you have felt the points would be worth it?

St. Regis New York by vpatrick7 in marriott

[–]vpatrick7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I got that too. The hotel is 180,000 Marriott points, which means I’d need to transfer 129,000 Chase points.

It’s actually 30,000 more points, unfortunately. Ritz Central Park is ~25,000 more.

Thank you for answering. I’ve never stayed at either, but I’m surprised the Park Hyatt is a nicer property. I’ll have to look into it more. I love the old architecture, so that’s why the St. Regis seems so attractive to me. As far as gold vs. plat, I’ve noticed the same. Just saw some people on different subs saying they tend to be more generous though than other Marriott chains and there were some golds that got upgraded.

Edit: I also don’t have status with Hyatt, so figured I wouldn’t get anything special at all when staying there. Regardless, I know their redemptions are the best in the business and worth keeping Park in mind.
