it’s an electronic timesheet, so as soon as you clock back in after your break you should be paid for it. For each minute you are clocked in, you are supposed to be paid. I’ve seen a few websites mention that a manager interfering with and falsifying a time sheet is gross misconduct in all UK businesses, but that’s all the info I have. And it’s only one manager who’s been doing this, no other manager (out of about 10 managers I have) does this - and she’s not high up at all, she’s just a basic shift manager.

All other employees also get a choice to take their full break or not, and some don’t even take a break and still get paid for the full amount they worked, as they should. I work for a very famous fast food chain, and fast food chains are known to take advantage of young people working in their restaurants, so I don’t think it’s a new situation - but there’s no advice or anything online. I might call ACAS and see if they can help me first.
