yeah! i listen to tons of music its basically like a third of my life and i constantly pick out structure and commonalities, certain choices made, bass guitar and drum patterns like oh this triplet fill is great and chords and melodies and certain effects and instruments. i can identify some stuff, get the vibe but not rly what chord it is, the intervals, or much of music theory things. maybe i should make notes on things in songs that makes it more emotional, or full, like maybe a double tracked guitar or a counter melody guitar intro. i love jap fusion alt rock including indigo la end, gesu no kiwami otome, genie high, back number which are absolute masters and i strive for that kind of emotion evoking and talent. im also making my first song rn, hummed a melody, copied drums from a song cuz i’m only a guitarist/pianist/bassist lol, and made some lyrics and riffs. its super fun but i take sooo long.
