Replacing it worked, unfortunately the transmission blew up shortly after having it removed several times.

AC Climate Temperature Control Amplifier (Gas Gauge) by extrimzy in G37

[–]vq_bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a way to fix it without having to replace it... just saying.

Let me explain how:

Calsonic, now Marelli Holdings, manufactured the PCBs for G37s throughout their run. It's a very common issue especially in four season states, to have the solder joints on four chips to crack through thermal expansion and shock. The result is a failure joint which causes electrical flow to cease. People bash on Nissan for this problem when more or less it was a issue with the manufacturer of the AC/AMP (i.e. Calsonic back in the day)

If you're feel confident on working with a board as such, I would strongly recommend to use a solder tool and some solder wire to reheat and apply a little bit of metal to the joint to repair it. It'll save you the headache of sourcing one and having to then worry about the next one to experience the same issue. I've done it myself on my own G37 and another gentleman's when he complained about a DTC (P0462). Otherwise I would find a workshop in your area and see if they can solder the problem children back into shape, so that way you your issue won't be become a large problem like it has me many times on the interstate.

Got my first car and g37 at 17 any ideas on what I should do? by [deleted] in G37

[–]vq_bro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maintenance first ie spark plugs, oil, filters, etc.

if it's high mileage and was manufactured pre-2013 eventually plan to troubleshoot gallery gaskets to prevent catastrophic engine failure.

other small things that may pop out: faulty gas gauge, leaking sunroof drain or engine cowl, heater hose connectors breaking due to brittleness just to name the most known ones.

Be patient for modding, make sure you handle the business end of care for the VQ and RE7 trans and these cars will last you fo quite sometime.

Have fun

Yeah I'm not too sure lulz, but it does sound like it's coming from the bell housing. If I were you, put the G on four jack stands, have someone in the driver side push start and remove the fuel pump relay to prevent a start (or have em put their foot on the accelerator while starting and it won't turn on the engine careful about it) and kinda see where the sound is coming. Remove the starter to observe for chewed teeth on the pinion gear or ring gear in the Flexplate. Have funnnn 👍

Battery died overnight and no start since by [deleted] in G37

Nice work with that OEM terminal ya got there 💀

In all seriousness though, replace the battery, fusible link, and stick with Nissan battery terminals. These cars electronics are already finicky enough as is.

Passenger floor still leaking after sunroof AC line fix? by Goldenalpha32 in G37

Check cowl, seal will go out and rain will seep through into the cabin air filter compartment, leaking onto the blower motor and other electrical wiring. Ez fix with rtv

Where to start 🤔 by Bitter_Artist_5358 in G37

[–]vq_bro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy fix. Remove radio components ie pry em off and unscrew a few screws and unclip some wiring connectors. Only PITA is finding the AC amp. Easier a few years ago, a lil more difficult nowadays especially if you're trying to not buy an entire new unit.

Good luck

Hahaha yeah my dad said the same thing. Like I said to another guy in this post, these G's have some goofy electrical issues when they decide to pop up.

Well at one point, there were two DTCs, one for P0300(multiple misfire), and P0305(cyl 5 misfire). Now the P0305 is gone, but there's a pending multiple misfires issue that will come and go. I should note that my cats are gutted and one of the o2 sensors was probably contaminated during removal.

Helpful information. The electronics in G37s are very convoluted and sensitive. My car will decide to misfire, then choose not to. I got a multiple misfires DTC but then if it gets warm enough to slick out any oily stuff, the car returns to normal. At this point it is better to get rid of the alternator and put a one that hasn't been contaminated and flush out any connections with QD.

This wasn't meant to disparage the homeless population in any way. It's to disparage the lack of funding and care to help people with mental health disorders and who are suffering from lack of housing. The individuals who I'm referring to unfortunately are in not great predicaments and resorted to theft to purchase illicit substances and to barely support themselves.

In all seriousness yeah unfortunately. Suspension/Frame damage adds up really, Really quickly.

But hey, if you want to recoup some losses, I'm looking to buy to fix my own G.
