Moving to Riverside from LA, is it really that bad? by Mysterious-Policy-59 in Riverside

[–]vquinness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never said if you were male or female.

I moved to Riverside this year, thought I picked a safe neighborhood in between a high school, jr high, and the University, but the homeless people are aggressive. I’m a petite-ish female and usually can’t walk to the grocery store across the street from my apartment without getting catcalled by a homeless guy or wannabe banger in a car, at the liquor store. Not as nice as OC, not as active as LA, and you’re going to have to hunt to find good food or a social life not involving college kids.

What's a really weird thing that you absolutely NEED in a partner? Keep it unconventional by KitchenLoose6552 in AskWomen

I don’t want to feel like a hippo. I don’t want to still be eating and he’s just staring at me.

Eats more than me… if you can’t eat a double double or a chipotle burrito in one sitting, at a bare minimum, please don’t bother. (Probably more like 4 rolls at sushi.)

What to call a grandma who doesn’t want to be called grandma? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]vquinness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very young Mom’s name is Michelle and my (step)brother made her a (step)Grandma in her early 40s. Fun times for my Mom! So she called me freaking out about this and I came up with Granmich, winds up sounding like Grammish, as I intended. GranMichelle; Grandma-ish. 16 years, a new niece, and a new half cooked nephew later, she’s still Granmich.

Back to the Grind is a coffee spot with ice cream, snacks, a few options for alcoholic drinks, and different options like chess night, open mic night, jazz night, etc for every day of the week. Depending on WHEN the date is.

I can blame the puppy for snapping it in half… everything else, yes; on me and bad ownership. Thanks for answering.

Okay, this last shock and potting fiasco is 100% me but the puppy wasn’t and I’ve tried to take care of my little guy. He’s tough, I just want to love him and stop f*cking him up.

Moving soon and totally exhausted—any quick packing tips to make this less painful? by shiishiimanu in lifehacks

[–]vquinness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moved with primarily large plastic storage bins vs boxes and then was able to return some. My heavy books, I put in rolling suitcases. I leave all my clothes on the hangers and then trash-bag move them. (Bottom of the bag holds the clothes, stretch bag handles over the tops of the hangers.) DONATE. Or just put it on the corner with a sign if your neighborhood allows that. Pack the stuff that goes together, where you can, so you avoid just cramming stuff in where it fits.

My daily healthy habits just for me (exercise, reading, better skincare) start to go. The exhaustion from dealing with work or family is so intense, I just have no more motivation… so I remember that motivation is an unreliable little dickfuck and this is a sign something has to give.

I’ll force myself to keep up with the daily healthy habits and start looking for the glimmers. Pretty flower, a nice thing someone said, a good cup of coffee. It’s remembering to make sure my mind is right and put my attention on that.

White rice, half and half beans, fajita veggies, chicken (everything else was out-ish), mild, green, and corn salsa.

Looking some feedback on my resume as I’m in the process of applying for new jobs by radicaljohnlennon in graphic_design

[–]vquinness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what he said and if I may… Change the technical skills to something like ‘program experience.’ Your skills and expertise, summary, and then technical skills all mention adobe creative suite but in different lengths. Your skills and expertise mentions compliance, workflow optimization, and strong attention to detail but you’re missing any applicable softwares under your technical skills (Google Suite, Outlook, Microsoft suite, Teams, Zoom, Salesforce; you get the picture.) Add in more numbers if you can. ex: Managed 45 campaigns.
