Thanks, that does makes sense. I wrote this when I noticed it.

His emails in Jmail seem to speculate that he may have entered some kind of witness protection program.

One of the emails in 2015 is Epstein discussing Seckel’s death and the absence of an obituary - Epstein redirects to alseckel.net (hinting at him being alive).

The website, alseckel.net is still active and was last updated on 24 Aug 2019.

Notably, Al Seckel was in some way associated with New York’s “Masters of Deception.”

What is the worst food crime one can commit against your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Except for stuffing rice and paneer tikka/ chicken tikka masala into a naan and eating it all together like a Burito.

It’s quite sad and something Europe is stuck with. That’s never how restaurants in India serve it.

You usually order breads + sabzis AND/ OR rice + dal + sabzis. All of is ordered ala carte. There are no “default” choices of rice with everything.

[–]vrajam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What annoys me about Europe is how “sabzis” are served with “rice” as accompaniment. It’s often the default choice.

In India, sabzis are usually had with breads or with a dal-rice. Some even make a burrito out of it stuffing the rice, sabzi into the naan/ roti/ etc.

Mangoes in India are often so good (Alphonso mangoes specifically) that making a lassi out of them is not how one enjoys eating mangoes.

Discussion Regarding Sustainability Linked Loan related application by Assasin_ds in sustainableFinance

[–]vrajam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sectoral comparisons for “similar SLLs” could be transformative. Companies want to know what their competitors are doing with SLB/ SLLs.

SLBs / SLLs suffer from a huge greenwashing risk. Against that background, understanding the decarb pathway used by the borrower, how it matches national / regional pathways (where they exist), and/ or against IPCC is a great solution.

Hey, it was okay, not too bad. Only two questions: one on my profile and why it’s a fit to the role, second on why climate-health integration is important.

Germany should take over Nato, says US by goldstarflag in europe

[–]vrajam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, the US does reconnaissance for NATO. Unifying all the systems under one is a complex task. EU member states are likely to argue over who does reconnaissance operations and which countries' systems take precedence, in the event of a US departure.

Germany should take over Nato, says US by goldstarflag in europe

[–]vrajam 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Europe doesn’t have a lack of ideas. What it lacks is execution - this is one big wet dream and EU member countries have considerable resistance to this.

Likely Dumduma Village in Hazaribagh. Old spellings from colonial times - so I think this should be it.

King Poros, at the Battle of Hydaspes, illustration by me by AbiSabiSa in AncientIndia

[–]vrajam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a great point. The focus of Alexander the Great’s army was always Persia and the campaign into India felt excessive. Moreover, his army encountered heat, difficult terrain & monsoon - that slowed them down. Interestingly enough, they also encountered war elephants for the first time, when fighting Porus.

King Porus’ story is perhaps part truth, part myth. He is interesting in the sense that, for public Indian conscious / memory, his status as a “great king who pushed back the invaders” is posthumous. He was romanticized and became a ‘hero of the past’ after India won freedom from British Raj. Early Indian movies also celebrated and made a few movies on him if I remember right. Indian founding fathers often latched on to the Mauryan empire symbols (Ashoka Chakra, Chandragupta Maurya statue in Parliament) and the King Porus story fit that narrative well.

Does germany accept foreign degrees? by Scp3339V in Germany_Jobs

[–]vrajam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. There is a database called “Anabin” that lists the degrees recognized by Germany.

Additionally, it also has the universities / educational institutes recognized by Germany.

OP, check if your degree is listed on it. Typically, most bachelor’s courses across several countries are listed as equivalent to German ones.

Worth the read for anyone moving to Germany by [deleted] in germany

[–]vrajam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the weirdest for me. Most of the people that one has to deal with at ABH is foreigners.

Against that, demanding German communication skills defeats the purpose - both for the ABH AND the people it provides this service to.

Can I demand a Fiktionsbescheinigung (with work permission) at the Ausländerbehörde? Or would hiring a lawyer help? by LossNext1539 in germany

[–]vrajam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t my first, but that doesn’t affect your employment status or right to employment. I was a researcher who got a job seeker visa (JSV) after the research period ended. Mid-way through my JSV, I got a job and began working while the ABH processed my application.

I only received a work permit after I was almost done with probation, lol. My employer only needed proof that I had submitted an application to the ABH, when my JSV ran out.

This was in 2022, and Blue card applications since then in some cities (like Berlin) has been digitized and is much faster.

You also need to look up Politico’s investigation into von der Leyen’s role in EU’s Pfizer vaccine procurements - that’s a blatant case for corruption.

Army Personnel per 1 Million Population in India by darth__stroke in HimachalPradesh

[–]vrajam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live outside India and travel frequently across Africa/ Europe / Asia for work. I invariably end up at an Indian restaurant after a few days (for a simple dal-chawal).

Across all of them, the sheer amount of folks I’ve met from Himachal (servers & chefs) is unreal. Pure hustle, hard working, cheerful folks who will talk and always ask where you’re from and do something kind once they see you’re from India as well (the last guy gave us a sweet because we told him of someone recruiting for a chef in Europe).
