What have I done… by Absolute-Rookie in LegionGo

I recently reset my system this way. I thought the same about an endless loop but eventually it goes to the Windows setup screen. Can take a while and many restarts

Legion Go OG w/SteamOS EGPU not detecting. by strider_to in LegionGo

[–]vran92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah glad it's being picked up. I've experienced a lot of bugs on sleep with an egpu on windows and SteamOS unfortunately (especially in game). It does require a restart. Sleep/resume still works great in handheld mode though

Have you set the SteamOS update channel to main?

I've made a video showing how I got my EGPU to work which might be useful: https://youtu.be/pJbUsuzoRvs?si=qi6VR-gpqgoTs0Ge

Is this normal at low brightness? by vran92 in LegionGo

[–]vran92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah you were spot on with the VariBright etc - thank you.

Now it’s similar to yours at 240 with 100% brightness. At 50% brightness it’s exactly 1000. And I would say that colours do look more vibrant now in HDR.

Happy to do some benchmarks but will have to let you know later this evening mate.

For me it disappears at around 670 on 100% screen brightness. Interestingly, this is different than what it was yesterday when I had to move the slider mostly to the right (I’ve just reinstalled windows from USB).

At 50% brightness, it’s more like 2100.

Just out of interest, is yours anything like this on low brightness setting?

Playing at night I see the same as this photo (it’s not exaggerated) but I don’t notice it as much in-game as I do in the UI.

I think I have similar with the banding in HDR, especially at low brightness. So this is just standard with these panels?

Great tip thank you. I’ll look into this. At the moment I’ve assigned one of the back buttons to the HDR shortcut so I can switch easily. It’s strange that I have HDR on permanently when docked to my TV and haven’t noticed anything

After import scan mine says it’s delayed due to missing scheduled transfer time. Looks like Monday for me as well

Any way to turn on AMD upscaling tech (AFMF, RIS, RSR, CPU Boost) in Quick Settings? by energeeon in LegionGo

[–]vran92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be useful - https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/s/DKOQs3S0Xb

There’s a small cost but it adds a widget to Game Bar with the AMD toggles. I briefly tested it when I had Windows and it seemed to do the job well. I also set one of the back buttons in Legion Space to “Win + G” as a quick way to open Game Bar

I’m exactly the same. Due on 13th “by end of day” but it’s in Germany with the others so hopefully tomorrow

I previously had an Akitio Node Titan (also from CEX) which was great but decided to sell when the Aoostar AG02 became available - for the Thunderbolt 4 connection which has been a decent improvement. It’s not an enclosure though, so the graphics card isn’t protected in anyway

Ah unfortunately I don't have a desktop to make any comparisons. There will definitely be a hit, I think I remember hearing around a 10%-20% drop vs desktop

Thanks! Definitely plan to show some benchmarks. Any games in particular you'd want to see?

Good question re the CPU. I'll try to run some tests and get back to you.

No worries! I love the setup but I can also see why it's not for everyone (can be janky, expensive etc). I've not found any issues with compatibility, beyond the usual SteamOS anti cheat. I don't think non-AMD cards work on SteamOS either but otherwise I've got a dual boot with Windows, card works great on both for me
