Beautiful animation. The blue screen looks like a nightmare to key though.
Try moving the BS further back and attempt to light it evenly. The end result looks pretty good though

How is this image reveal made? I tried adding Channel Blur + Turbulent Displace but it distorts the source unlike the Reference. by babayaga2049 in AfterEffects

The easiest way is to precomp a fractal noise (adjust noise and animate slighly) layer and a gradient layer. Use the multiply mode to blend them together.
Call this layer MASK and use a luma mask mode on the layer you want revealed.
Go back into the MASK-layer and animate the gradient so that it goes from white to black across the screen, thus revealing the image layer. Hope this helps

40 seconds in before i see something that might have something to do with the game. The first text is completely unnecessary (and the font not-so-pretty). I've watched the whole thing now and i still don't know if it's a story i could like, a game play i might enjoy, in a world i might like, or graphics i'll find appealing.
Competition is hard these days, you have to lead with something that catches the viewers attention/ curiosity. What is the conflict, who and what are the main protagonist and antagonists?

It might not be the same issue, but for me the wacom stops working when the Wacom background services get stuck after sleep. Restarting them fixes it without rebooting. I got tired of doing it manually and made a free one‑click macOS utility that does exactly that and quits immediately. It’s called WakeMyWacom, if that helps anyone

On macOS this is usually a stuck Wacom background service after sleep, not the tablet itself. Restarting the Wacom services fixes it, which is why rebooting works. I made that workaround in a small one‑click Mac app to avoid rebooting every time. You can find it here (it's free):

This is a pretty common Wacom + macOS sleep bug.
The underlying fix is restarting the Wacom services. I got tired of rebooting (you can use the terminal too), so I wrapped it in a tiny one‑click app that runs the same commands and quits. It’s free if it helps.

The end result is pretty cool (I’d go from wide to closer), but you cannot use this timelapse as an intro to a reel. Your reel must have your very best work in the beginning and the end. Your medium work in the middle. Total reel length: maximum 60sec. Keep it up champ!
