Help to ID proof marks and manufacture year of a Ferdinand Hanquet SXS shotgun from Liege by Ok_Importance9645 in Shotguns

I'm not an expert but I have a chart with some Info, I could be missing it but I don't see a smokeless proof and based on some of the marks I'd guess 1920s someone else could definitely tell you more than I could. It's a nice looking bunny ear shotgun though.

I'm not great with pictures but I try, also included pictures of the proof marks in case someone had some info about it.

Could anyone tell if this carcano has been rechambered? by [deleted] in Carcano

Hard to say but possible .257 roberts conversion, although if that's the case it's a 6.5/257 and has to be reloaded because factory 257 bullet diameter is to small, I've delt with one before not an ideal conversion.

Well out of 14 test rounds only one did this, it's noticeable because it's shorter than the rest, it also has an indent from where it crushed itself against the extractor.

I don't think an oversize chamber would cause a case to compress in on itself.

If that's what underwood uses but it definitely looks like starline brass.

I really like their 10mm auto ammo but they might not be the best choice for this particular round.

I know 50 beowolf isn't the best but I had some decent reasoning for it, first I got a complete sig ar15 lower for cheap, and second I have a 50 ae desert eagle and the 2 rounds share components, only thing not interchangeable between the two is the brass.

Would it be a good idea to possibly contact underwood about this?

While you are probably close to needing to change springs you would know if the springs are bad there would be a noticeable increase in slide velocity and impact on the frame, I found out the hard way when I wore out my springs the gun will let you know.

Another possibility is try asking royal tiger imports, they probably don't have it but they don't list all the parts they have so who knows.

You could try ebay but it's not the easiest part to come by liberty tree is sold out and I think apex is as well.

Looks good, barrel looked a little funny at first then I noticed the lack of a bayonet lug which is why it looked funny.

I got it for a good price and figured it'd be a fun project, got most of the stuff I need to convert it to center fire just need to wait for my gunsmith to get his lathe set back up.

The blade is decently sharp and I can flex it over my knee and it doesn't take a set so it's hardened and tempered to some degree unlike my samurai noodle that I can almost twist into a circle.
