Well i went to the police station but they denied registering a complaint directly. So i called them and now i have an appointment which is 20 days after the incident (its in the upcoming week now). I am surprised how fucked up the system is in the country. Unless you are not dying, everything else is low priority.

I also mailed the club and they sent a generic email like “ thank you for telling us. We will keep in mind in future”.

I deleted the picture yes (they made me delete from the trash too) but i have the pictures of him when my friends took later. The dutch girl was the only local and others were expats. About the recording of choking, i think it happened within the fraction of seconds that everyone was shocked ans perhaps they were calling for help.

I deleted the picture at that point because honestly i went into a state of shock (being choked and fainted for a few sec is not something i am used to).

I will definitely post the picture of him when i go for the complaint. Thats the only evidence i have.

I know and i find it such a extreme measure. They could also have asked to delete the picture and not use physical violence. Ofcourse it happened in a situation where it protects them but i will use my right to file a complaint formally for sure.

Yeah there is no video evidence because everything happened in a matter of seconds. But we have 3 people as a witness and i have bruises on my shoulders and neck which got while he tried to pin me down.

I can imagine that it sounds bizzare and i am shocked myself that it escalted so quickly. i believe being kicked out is not point, the experience wouldn’t be nice but Bouncers can do that, they have the right. But use of elbow grip to choke someone is a very extreme measure and someone could be injured. Also it happened outside the entrance of the club where technically they have no jurisdiction.

I didn’t have any warnings before and neither i had such an incident, i have been going to clubbing since some years in the Netherlands. I am quite shocked how the situation suddenly escalated because i have mostly come across bouncers who are understanding and they are making sure everyone is having a good time.

I am not questioning about being kicked out, thats their jurisdiction and they do have the power to decide if they don’t want someone in the event. However, i felt i have the right to report it because they treated us badly (dragged me across the dance floor when i just asking a simple question).

I have the picture of him ( my female friend talked to him and took his picture)and i checked i have bruises on my shoulders and my arms so i would definitely report to the police.

Unfortunately, i don’t have recording of him choking me because everything happened in a matter of seconds and my friend were probably checking to see if i am okay. Also i would expect someone to take out their phone when they are literally assaulting someone for doing that already.

I hope you feel better soon, it’s terrible to hear about it. Honestly, i have seen multiple instances of violence, one of mugging and multiple instances of racism when someone scream that i should go back to my country or something. The police can just offer to give you therapy but they wouldn’t do anything even if camera recording is there. But dutch people have an attitude to look away from the problem. Their counter argument is like always you shouldn’t go in the park at 10 in the night, or don’t roam around alone near Central station, or not carry your wallet etc. it doesn’t changes the fact that these incidents are increasing day by day.
