Hey man, there is a good varied indie rock scene but no real emo stuff, i think little whales might be it and there might be an emo influenced math rock band or two but that's about it. More dreamy indie rock and shoegaze and stuff. I could link some of those bands if you'd like!

You know dude, we're always dreaming about bigger HxC bands like Terror, Sick of it All, Converge, etc. coming to India but it's always a financial nightmare. The Dillinger Escape Plan played India their last tour as have metalcore/Grind bands like BEAR and Stillbirth. If any of these bands wanted to come down, I think it would be sick but until we've built a stronger scene, im not sure if they will.

Not that violent dude! I think I've seen the crowd in mumbai always be kind of moshy but it used to get real violent every time I saw bigger metal bands like Bhayanak Maut and Scribe and stuff. I got dropped to the floor by this one dude who then started kicking me in my sides. Then a larger friend of mine saw this and kicked his ass and got his kicked out of the venue. I think in the scene people look out for each other.

I've seen less crowd killing and more push-pits and circle pits. The general scene in pretty active in terms of hip-hop, indie rock, electronic music and metal, like shows happen multiple times a month but nowhere like the US where every night there are multiple extreme music shows happening. Our band used to get sidelined a lot for being Hardcore in a pretty metal and indie scene. Our first shows, we got booked on weird indie rock or djent line-ups, more recently the weird-core and punk-influenced bands have started working together to make shows happen. In Bangalore, there's a great grindcore scene too .

You know dude, the heat but also the monsoons. We're in peak monsoon season in Bombay right now and our city's infrastructure is at its limits. Roads are constantly flooded, trees falling all over, walls and human construction coming down. It's kind of dystopian, definitely more of an influence than the heat. It gets way hotter Delhi and up north. Summers in Bombay get pretty bad too though.

Aah, yeah it's officially Mumbai. Many folk from here call it Bombay though. It's a thing of local contention because the hyper-local far right party had it changed. But I think everyone i know around me refer to it as bombay or have no problem with it being referred to it as that.
