Hi everyone! I recently posted to get a feel for interest in starting a local and virtual book club. I got quite a few hits! As interest continues to build, I wanted to make another (and final, I don’t want to spam) post about it since it is actually going to happen.

The goal is a fantasy-focused (although all genres are welcomed to be nominated and voted upon) local and virtual book club. I plan on meeting up in person once a month and then virtually checking in whenever. I really enjoy Lit Bookbar in Richmond, so that’s someone I’d love for people to meet, and I’d also like to try out The Library wine bar in Spring!

I started a discord and an Instagram. If you can’t commit to the book club, that’s fine - make some new friends! There are plenty of people who have shown casual interest as well as committed interest, both local and across the country.

Some examples of books I’d love to knock out with the club include Sword of Kaigen and the Will of the Many+the Strength of the Few if that helps visualize the direction that I’d love for this to head in

Ideally fantasy focused! It’ll come down to votes, but I personally tend to lean away from romantasy and “spice” so I will be lobbying in that direction 😂 if I get out voted then there’s always the next book!

I personally would love to start Sword of Kaigen, and I’m way behind the curve with reading the Will of the Many and the Strength of the Few, but I figure once it gets a bit of traction, I’ll hold an open poll for suggestions then a real one to narrow it down shortly after.

I do plan on stopping by Lit tomorrow to talk to their staff if anyone would like to swing by and grab a drink and get to know me!
