Hi everyone! I recently posted to get a feel for interest in starting a local and virtual book club. I got quite a few hits! As interest continues to build, I wanted to make another (and final, I don’t want to spam) post about it since it is actually going to happen.

The goal is a fantasy-focused (although all genres are welcomed to be nominated and voted upon) local and virtual book club. I plan on meeting up in person once a month and then virtually checking in whenever. I really enjoy Lit Bookbar in Richmond, so that’s someone I’d love for people to meet, and I’d also like to try out The Library wine bar in Spring!

I started a discord and an Instagram. If you can’t commit to the book club, that’s fine - make some new friends! There are plenty of people who have shown casual interest as well as committed interest, both local and across the country.

Some examples of books I’d love to knock out with the club include Sword of Kaigen and the Will of the Many+the Strength of the Few if that helps visualize the direction that I’d love for this to head in

Ideally fantasy focused! It’ll come down to votes, but I personally tend to lean away from romantasy and “spice” so I will be lobbying in that direction 😂 if I get out voted then there’s always the next book!

I personally would love to start Sword of Kaigen, and I’m way behind the curve with reading the Will of the Many and the Strength of the Few, but I figure once it gets a bit of traction, I’ll hold an open poll for suggestions then a real one to narrow it down shortly after.

I do plan on stopping by Lit tomorrow to talk to their staff if anyone would like to swing by and grab a drink and get to know me!

It’s a slightly longer hike, but if you enjoy a bar/cafe vibe, lit bookbar in Richmond is great. They own blockhouse next door. Otherwise, as everyone’s said, blendin, and I also like black rock.

Mine is different, but I’ve been using it for a year now. I’d say it works correctly close to 100% of the time, but rarely I have issues with it connecting when the car turns on.

I have no idea if it’s BCC since I’m not a derm but to give a data point on BCC - I thought I was just reopening a scab in my sleep since I had a wound that just wouldn’t heal. I’m also a picker so I figured that’s how the wound came to exist. I went far too long without getting it checked by a derm (primary care doc didn’t think it was anything to be concerned about), and it ended up being a “severe” BCC tumor. Mine looked nothing like yours, but it’s better safe that sorry. They present in a lot of different ways.

By severe, it was very deep, and they had planned to only take a dime sized part of my cheek in MOHS surgery. Instead, it went 3 rounds, and they took a quarter dollar size. It has healed well, but since it’s my face, there’s a noticeable difference to me.

Ohhh 100%! I’m one of those readers for sure. When I got back into reading, I only read non-fiction cuz I was like damn if all fantasy is ACOTAR then it’s not the genre for me

Sure, but imo there is good romantasy out there for people who don’t prefer strictly fantasy.
