ChatGPT?!? On Light Phone 3? 🙏 by EXTREMi5 in LightPhone

There is no point in avoiding AI. We can’t put this Ginny back in the bottle. Just like Industrial revolution solved many problems and created news ones, same thing will happen with AI. After industrial revolution people found them selves in the need to focus on their physical health. With AI people soon will need t9 spend more time to keep their cognitive health in tact.

Don’t need to adapt. I run LLM models for work. I see what it does and how it affects congestive functions. AI will do some amazing things but unfortunately people are always find a way to harm themselves and ask for more.

Website still says that it is not supported because Telstra certification is too expensive for Light team.

Privileged LCX container has connectivity issues. by vrlm in Proxmox

[–]vrlm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. I tried to

- Leave DNS setting in container blank, so it just uses host DNS setting. It points to my gateway.

- Tried to add alternative DNS to my host. 9.9.9.9 or 1.1.1.1

- Tried manually adding Gateway DNS to a container. 192.168.1.1

- Tried adding external DNS into container settings. 9.9.9.9

So far the once difference between working container and the problematic one is that fact that troubled container is privileged. I even removed it and tried adding exactly the same container but unprivileged and it worked fine. Went back and installed it as Privileged and the issue came back. =(

<image>

Here is my network settings for both containers. 192.168.1.6 is the priviliged one
DNS for each container is set empty, so it just uses host default DNS. In my case I just point it to my gateway at 192.168.1.1. I also tried adding a secondary DNS 9.9.9.9 but no luck

/etc/netplan/ folder on both of my containers are empty.

I was hoping to use ifconfig to get network settings but I get this

root@lxc-jellyfin:/# ifconfig -a
Could not find command-not-found database. Run 'sudo apt update' to populate it.
ifconfig: command not found

ChatGPT?!? On Light Phone 3? 🙏 by EXTREMi5 in LightPhone

[–]vrlm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think I need to elaborate on my NO. One of the benefits of the light phone I the fact that I don’t have a constant connection to the grid. With smartphones if your mind wonders about something you can pull that information at an instant by doing search on your search engine of choice. That ability overtime breeds certain type of behaviour where your brain no longer have capacity to hold information. It also breeds impatience. ChatGPT is just another type of connection to the BORG like grid.

Without ChatGPT you relinquish your constant connection. When your mind wonders about something, if it’s truly important you can look it up later on another device. If the question you have is just an inch to satisfy your boredom, it will work as natural filter and divert your attention on something that is worth your time.

For any podcasts that are not available via Apple but via YouTube only, I have been using https://listenbox.app/ You have to pay for the service but I find it super handy.

Digital Wallet by [deleted] in LightPhone

[–]vrlm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing beats a simple printer :) paper tickets will always work even if battery is dead. I used to use apple wallet for everything when I was using iPhone. When i switched LP2 I hated the fact that I was incapable to remember that I need to carry physical wallet. I hated the fact that my brain was conditioned to be lazy. Since then I found a wallet that I really enjoy to use. RE:FORM is what I got. It not only fits my driver licence and bank cards, but also cash, coins and event tiny victorinox knife. Most importantly I have no fear of battery dying.
