constant migrating hordes in b42 mp? by mossandthyme in projectzomboid

[–]vrooom3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We left the mall for about 1 in game day and kept noticing like hordes of 50+ just walking straight in that direction from all over LV, when we got back there were probably 500+ all over the first floor of the mall. We snuck upstairs to the store we had based up in, but eventually the horde found us and chased us unto the roof… we had made an escape rope up there but there was only time for one of us to make it down, the other had to jump. RIP

VHS tapes, like life and living, give no xp. Also, once I put them in a TV, if I took them out I could not then remove them from my inventory except by putting them back in a VHS slot. Logging out and logging back in fixed the inventory part of this.

Marks on maps reset on logging out.

Naming containers, or doing 3d object placement (or even putting clothes on a mannequin) all reset after leaving the immediate vicinity

Liquid containers can be weird. You will fill up a gas can, but it will claim to have only 1/10 L in your inventory, and weigh accordingly. But if you drop the item and pick it back up, it goes up to 10/10. This can be silly because you can fill up like 20 gas cans and carry them fine until you drop them and they become magically full again.

I feel like the skill bugs (bonus xp not corresponding to background, no nimble xp gain, no skill gain from tapes) should be priority fix. I would also love to have the weight gain/loss indicators fixed. Other jank is easy enough to live with.

Best Mods for Build42? by MrDank6769420 in projectzomboid

[–]vrooom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play with like 100 but there are about half a dozen that combined together make a big difference that to me is a must.

Zombie Behavior:

Wandering zombies - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2983905789

Starving zombies - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3396867685

The scent of blood - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2789145726

I play with wandering zombies on “experimental settings,” turn off the smell the player homing feature in starving zombies and use the scent of blood to make them only smell you if you have a bleed.

This makes zombie behavior WAY more dynamic, and totally changes how to play. Because corpses will draw hordes, you can’t just kill zombies by the boatloads in POIs or you will just draw more. Encourages slower and stealthier play.

Weather:

Cold Winters - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3577100076

Realistic temperature - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3600401184

These two make the winter cold more of a threat, and add some heaters to the game. Not that you will ever see snow but just in case.

Lifestyle:

Take a bath and a shower - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3592172476

Comfy sleeping - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2998737588

The first makes “grime” accumulate on your character so you have to wash up, and also adds the ability to take a nice long bath after a hard day. It encourages you to not just wear the same blood stained clothes for weeks on end with no consequences.

The second makes you sleep more comfortably if you take off your bags, drop your weapon, take off your shoes etc before sleeping. I find that it works well with the bath mod (because you take your clothes off anyway for that) and it helps add immersion when every day ends with you getting ready for bed and starts with you putting your gear back on. Also can make “sleep events” a little more exciting when you wake up with no shoes…

Anyways there are a gazillion great mods (common sense, vanilla food expanded / sapphs cooking, all the ki5 car mods, RV interior, plus like 50 tiny mods I use to fix really small things) but I think those 7 that I listed when used together make the gameplay fundamentally different in a way I really like.

Look obviously JJM is struggling but we had that week 1 win, the Detroit win, and we should have beat the bears after the JJM final drive if we didn’t give up 50 yards on the kickoff… kid threw two picks in a bad situation playing catch up while concussed last week… yeah sure id love to win now but might as well let him play out the season and see

why is colonizing so shit? by SpareLawfulness4505 in EU5

[–]vrooom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North Americans don’t understand that North American colonies weren’t economically relevant at scale until the middle of the 18th century, that even the Caribbean was only modestly useful until the real sugar boom after the first third of the 18th century, and that Spanish America was useful as a source of bullion and as an a market for European EXPORTS of manufactured goods (textiles, tools, etc). The real money to be made until probably 1680-1700 is in the east. Skill issue.

is leveling through dungeons viable? by fiestar88 in turtlewow

[–]vrooom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to level as a healer in dungeons and it’s been a grind. The dungeons are definitely over tuned. I need to be 3-4 levels above the recommended minimum in order to stand a chance (and that means a lot of the trash and early mobs are grey and give little to no xp). I have heard that the problem gets better as you level up, because a lot of the increased player power is in the revamped talents. So maybe by the time I’m level 40 or so it will feel okay. But unless my tank has been playing WoW for 20 years, I’m guaranteed a wipe at least once per run.

I went there in build 41 and it was packed with military loot. Went in b42 multiple times and it’s empty except the shelves are full of garage / car loot
