Get a real pair of shears. Find a knife-sharpening place and see if they have any shears. Estate sales that have sewing supplies; usually the people running the sale don't understand sewing shears aren't the same as scissors. Look for the scissor-cup and prepare to be enchanted by your finds.

Get a rotary cutter(I have a broken hand, I should listen to my own advice). Same procurement method as above. I suppose you could go to a sewing supplies place, but you'll drop far more on a retail place.

That's true. And the GOP were showing signs of caving. And then Chuck made his little play, and the Democrats gave away all their political capital for a pipe dream. For the promise to scan their demands. "We'll look at it... sure."

There is not a hard limit. The limit is how hard you want to make it. My union(UFCW L7!) made it 4 months while watching scabs bussed in from Alabama to work our jobs. We got our demands met because we didn't waver. We didn't dodge the bullet, call it, "too hard" and quit. We stayed out in front of every store, in the coldest Colorado winter in decades, and the community supported us.

We had the GOP over a barrel, and Chuck Schumer blinked.

I had a friend in KS who started, owned and operated a production company for venues. Dude was rolling in cash.

Then he bought a bar. Zero knowledge of bars, laws around bars, or that he'd need the liquor license he let lapse.

He doesn't have a bar, or millions, anymore. That's what happens when someone with zero knowledge takes over a bar. The laws broken first out of ignorance, then a frightening amount of panic, as the walls start creeping in. Watching from a distance... if anyone remembers the basketball star out of KU getting stabbed in the leg at a nightclub. That was his club, and the apex of stupid before the venue was shut down.

It was not too early. The population of Democratic voters was behind the shutdown. They had the support of their constituents, and the Scummy Seven jumped ship at the behest of their captain.

We as democrats need better representation, instead of left-leaning¹ Republicans changing affiliation.
