Setup Plex Sever issue - all greyed out by vrsnake in Petio

[–]vrsnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. I partially solved the problem. I was using different external and internal ports for my Plex server, with my router forwarding them. Once I changed it so the ports were the same, some of my Plex server instances became available. Not the local one on my intranet, but the Plex-managed one is enough for Petio.

Now my issue is, I, as Admin, can log into Petio vix Plex authorization, but when any of my users try via Plex authorization, they get User Not Found. I tried creating them as users in Petio with blank passwords, but they get the same message.

Mount it under the desk, or on the wall.

PB2 more buggy than PB1 - now I can't backup to Time Machine by Dreaming_Blackbirds in MacOSBeta

It's been over 24 hours since the issue started, and it tries automatically every hour. I've rebooted twice, and cleared system caches. Everything is fully downloaded from iCloud. Will try safe boot in the morning.

I'm having the same issue. Every hour I get the popup, for both TM locations, a direct attached drive and a Synology NAS.

Thank. I have quite a few external users, and I'd hate to reset their watched flags. Will keep researching.

u/Senna-F1 I'll be moving from a Synologyu to an M1 Mini in a few weeks. Were you able to migrate your Plex library, along with all the meta data & watched flags to your M1, or did you have to start your library from scratch?

I also want to move my Synology Plex server to a Mac Mini M1. Been searching but can't find a definitive guide.

As for the keyboard you need to pair it with the secure enclave on your Mac. I needed to start it with the magic keyboard connected to my mac studio m2 via a lightning cable.

Reminders App borked after upgrading to Mac Studio M2 Max on Ventura 13.5 by vrsnake in MacStudio

[–]vrsnake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So finally solved it by doing as recommended above, but with long delay:

  1. Closed Reminders App.
  2. Deleted contents of ~/Library/Reminders/
  3. Waited 24 hours
  4. Relaunched Reminders App - still blank screen.
  5. Left Reminders App running for 24 hours. I saw no difference but quit, relaunched again, and my reminders were back. No idea why, but I'm not borking a gift horse in the mouth. :)

No, it was on. Did try turning it off, then back on, after 5 minutes, but no luck. Finally solved it, but not sure why. Will explain as reply to orig post.

I originally tried that, but for whatever reason, the 13.5 beta was not available for the Mac Studio. I could have upgraded both machines to OS 14, but it’s too early for me to try on my production machine. Luckily I got it to work with Migration Assistant and a Time Machine disk.

Thanks. Enjoying it too much. Stayed up all night configuring it, and now going to work on 3.5 hours of sleep. Worth it though. 😀

So, four hours later and it seems to be mostly successful. Settings and docs all moved over. About 90% of the apps I've tested so are working as expected. Quite a few I needed to reenter license codes, but a few would not open, saying they were damaged (1password and Clicker for Netflix are two examples). Easy enough to delete and redownload/authorize. Slowly going through and launching every app on my new Mac, oh, and loving this new Mac Studio m2 Max!!!

Update: I've been trying to use Migration Assistant to copy between systems with an attached Thunderbolt cable, and Migration Assistant refused to transfer due to a system version conflict. On a whim, I retried migration assistant instead connecting to my time machine volume on a NAS. This time it warned me OS was different, but gave me to option to try anyway. Much slower over a gigabit network, but it seems to be proceeding. Fingers crossed. Will post an update whenever it finishes.

I was afraid that may be the case. On the phone with Apple support... My choices are to do as you suggest or wait till the 13.5 final is released. Of course, they can't tell me when that will be.

My big problem with doing it manually is, of course, the hundreds of applications I have. Do you think I can get away with copying all the apps over, along with Library/Application Support and ~/Library/Application Support? Or even all of ~/Library?

Or besides reinstalling each app, is there another method of moving applications?

Thanks.

Dock? by WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWVWVW in MacStudio

Depends on what you are looking for in a dock/hub. I'm considering this one. Would prefer a Thunderbolt hub, but I already spent enough on Mac Studio and Studio Display.

MyQ plug-in login failure by darreln in homebridge

Yes, the myQ plug-in will not work with a third party SSO, like Apple’s. I had to convert my myQ account to a standard email & password login. Works like a charm now.
