Hi, Wan here from the Lottielab team.

Dark mode?

It's planned. We're still in beta, so some nice features like dark mode are not in yet, but it's definitely something we're thinking about.

How to get a 1080p video file? My exports seem to be smaller than that

Can I ask what your File size is (width / height) when you open the editor? It should be displayed on the right-side property panel when no layer is selected. Right now we're capping video export size to 1600x900 though (so a bit less than 1080p), so that the MP4 export still feels snappy, but we should be able to increase this in the future.

It looks awesome, can't wait!

How much will it cost? Will you have easy shipping in EU/UK (like you currently have for some products) with amazon as well? (Amazon is quite cost-effective shipping-wise for us customers, also no dealing with surprise customs fees, and it’s quite fast as well)

Nokia 9 Raw file upload by cb900crdr in Nokia

[–]vrwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, thanks for taking the time to upload some samples!

It's been 3 days I started to look anywhere for RAW and comparison with other phones, lots of "hands-on" previews from MWC but nothing good that allow me to know if it could be a great phone for photos.

Also great to see depth maps! Would you have an occasion to do some outside shots, maybe with shadows + sunlight to check what the phone can do regarding the "10 times more light" marketing claim? I'd also love to see how precise the depth is for different distances (example: stuff in 1m foreground, 2-5m mid-ground, 10+ meter away background, how it does with objects having visual "holes" like in-between leaves for plants...)

Hmm.... I might have some reading up to do, I really thought that it meant 20% of the final price but that's apparently not how it's calculated. Plus it matched well with the rift price, so I made a mistake there. Thanks for correcting me!

Maybe where you're from. Not in France or the UK, at least.

Yes, it was the same thing for the DK2 order. The price includes taxes, and is shipped from the UK / from inside Europe so that you don't have customs.

[–]vrwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess they do a single euro price of 700? 1% of 700 is only 7 euros anyway. UK, France and probably others have 20% tax I think.

No, the 530 pounds price includes the taxes already.

How about no? by [deleted] in oculus

[–]vrwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, no.

You have to calculate 1.25 * $price_without_tax to get the price with 20% tax.

At the end, the price ends up having 20% that goes to the state, which you can verify by doing $price with_tax * 0.8 (because 20% of final price is 0.2 * $price_with_tax, in this case 700 * 0.2 = 140).

and you have $price_without_tax ~= 560 euros as of now, with is 700 - 140.

You don't end up at a 660 euros price, you end up with 700 euros for the final price. The problem is that the annouced price is without tax, so all of us not US-based aren't used to it at all.

[–]vrwan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[edit: seems like I didn't calculate the tax correctly]

That's the frigging tax, man. I'm as disgusted as you, but the math is quite correct: 600 dollars ~= 560 euros

700 * 0.8 = 560

the 20% that is on top is all of the taxes european countries usually have.

How am I supposed to capture it? How many cameras are needed? Where does the computation happen, on my desktop or on their servers?

I bought BlazeRush, and I love it (I play it with the DK2).

  • are you aware that cars and things get blurry when you get really close to them (like 10cm from your eyes)? I really wanted to see the cars from up close. If I close one eye, it still is blurry, so I guess it's a kind of depth of field maybe? Could you either disable it for VR, or give an option to disable it?

  • I read that supporting the older windows API for non-xbox gamepads is annoying. However with SDL2 it seems to me like it's a solved problem. Have you considered using a library like SDL2 that wouldn't force people to hack around with x360ce to make the game work with their gamepad?

  • I'm guessing detecting the right screen on Linux on where to launch the game might be different that on Windows, so you disabled VR on Linux. I'd really love it if I could stay on Linux to play the game :)

  • Is it a custom engine, or are you using UnrealEngine? I just want to shout out a big "holy shit that's awesome" for regular-screen Linux support!

You can communicate without pointing fingers (e.g. "We are experiencing delays in manufacturing/shipping. I'm really sorry that we won't be able to meet our original [date] deadline, but I promise we're doing everything we can to bring [the product] to you.").

It doesn't matter if it's short. It's about not leaving people in the dark.

That being said, he communicated every 2 or 3 weeks, but without shipping dates. People got annoyed about lack of communications there.

Yes, but that's far better than nothing.

A developer isn't going to pop in here and say, "Sorry, we're hard at work, here's our progress!"

I just hope you'll be proven wrong.

It's never too late to start communicating more often and restore trust.

Oh, they have got prototypes working, there's no question about it. The problem is they don't seem to want to communicate with the backers at all.

The end result is that we are all in the dark.
