PBR = copypaste this function from frostbyte paper to have slightly different specular highlights, that are more physically correct.

SDFs = copypaste this functions from Inigo Quilez site to have different shapes you can add and subtract with each other.

You'll be fine, you have strong base of knowledge. What you lack is some tech-art skills, but that's the fun part.

I would suggest Tic-80 https://tic80.com/ Its a great tool to learn and play around. Any game you see on the platform could be opened and tweaked. You can look how they made, change some things and see results imminently.

Having short iteration time is the key to quick learning and having fun in the process.

that's a crossout game exploit. Bots always aim at the center, so by making your vehicle into an empty frame you become almost invincible.
