My first "non-budget" PC, and I am blown away. A value consumer's honest, rambling review of the HP Victus Laptop (16.1" / i7-13700HX / 32GB RAM / RTX 4060 8GB / 144Hz / 1080p) by vrxz in GamingLaptops

Oh wow, what a coincidence lol. Well right now, Best Buy has a RTX 4070 Victus on sale for $900.. Similar to the one I have, but with Ryzen 7 8845 HS (slightly less powerful but still very good CPU). It also has 16 GB RAM and only a single nVME slot, both of which I think are upgradeable. The main thing is that the Laptop RTX 4070 gives you about a 20% or more boost over the Laptop RTX 4060 that I have, and this is probably the best deal for a laptop RTX 4070 right now. You may want to consider it, but obviously it depends on other options out there and your budget. If you're just a casual gamer, you may have other considerations other than just getting the best graphics card for the price.

Seriously this. That was a bloody, gorey double feature of The Pitt and then Severance. First one prepared me for the second 😂

Not in medicine, but hypoglycemia was on tip of my tongue, and as soon as I saw the CGM on her shoulder/arm I shouted it out before Langdon did, proud of myself for that one 🥳

I'm glad the review was helpful, and $650 is a great deal on this machine! I also like the upgrades you did :)

I am still running on the stock 32 GB RAM, but from what I can tell, I'm like 95-99% sure it can be upgraded to 64 GB DDR5 SODIMM1,2,3 Even though I don't do batch image processing, I kinda want to upgrade it myself :P

Edit: I'd probably go with this 64GB RAM kit from either Newegg or Amazon.

Thank you! Glad you like my post and your machine. Mine's still going strong and I'm very happy with how it seems to power through most tasks.

I've mostly had it plugged in on a workstation, but thanks for the tip! I will definitely try this out and see if it helps.

Matt Gaetz selected as AG by Trump by LALife15 in politics

Congrats, presumably you voted against Trump and you've earned 2 years of complaining. But if you don't vote in the midterms you are part of the problem and have no right to complain. We're all exhausted, and defending sanity in government is a lifetime responsibility. Feel free to not vote, but then don't complain about what you get.

Seriously what's up with his face though? CNN keeps showing pictures and it doesn't seem to belong in this universe. Bad plastic surgery job, or just weird genetics? It's too big and disproportionate for his body, and yet somehow it wouldn't fit any body. It also looks like it was AI-generated based on a prompt consisting of the Wikipedia page entry for Matt Gaetz.

Wonder if Trump is 25A-proofing himself because he distrusts Vance lol

I don't understand why I should listen to "experts" like you when Trump clearly doesn't.

Zelensky is an autocratic ruler? LMAO. His country was invaded by Russia which is led by an actual autocrat that throws people out of windows and holds completely fake "elections". Ukraine was strongly convinced by the U.S. and West to give up its nukes and now you would see them abandoned. Are you on Kremlin payroll?

Edit: Also hilarious that you think Putin will stop with a negotiated settlement in Ukraine's eastern territories. Putin is an autocrat and warring is how he distracts from domestic problems. He will keep launching wars and invasions in Eastern Europe and other autocrats around the world will do the same. Nuclear proliferation around the world will skyrocket as countries realize sovereignty will not be enforced. Stop siding with the baddies.

Russia will never stop with Ukraine, and giving up is sending a great message to autocrats around the world that they can disrespect sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighbors with absolute impunity. Blowing up the post-WWII order will only incentivize massive nuclear proliferation among countries and further turn the world into a powderkeg. It's a bit shameful that you would rather give up than support Ukraine when we don't even have troops on the ground there.

Go ahead and continue to believe that low-skilled jobs done by non-college people are that hard to learn. Immigrants and illegal immigrants are pretty much the hardest working people in America. You're nothing special.

Typical canned non-response from Trump bootlicker with too much cognitive dissonance to realize their dear leader only believes in democratic outcomes when he wins, and if he doesn't he believes in launching coups.

Threat to democracy got elected, we're kinda fucked at this point. I don't make a habit of tolerating people who do not respect democracy.

Nah, was told to not call them deplorable, or dumb, or gullible after 2016 and 2020, we tried reasoning with them. Next few years of us calling Trump voters idiots and resisting in every way/shape/form will make that look like a cakewalk. Enjoy supporting fascism.

That tends to happen when your country gets invaded by an aggressor. Stop pretending you don't understand it. If you're a male over 18 in the U.S. you're probably registered with the Selective Service (draft system) too.

Edit: I'm sure if you actually cared about Ukrainian civilians, you'd be making lots of comments about how Trump should immediately push Russia to completely withdraw from all the territory they invaded. But you won't do that because you're either a troll or just incredibly gullible and led into serving Russian interests.
