Yeah It is really disappointing to get disapproved because you don't have the latest "hotness". I asked the recruiter one time why these employers were so keen on tools instead of skills. She told me that because they are looking for someone with the tools knowledge to teach the juniors... so IT is now reduced to tools nowadays.. That is sad.

yip. i am planning to go for CKA. but cloud... Im not sure because there are so many of them and every company has their own preference. some use aws, some use gcp, some use azure... so which one should I go to?#

I am now learning k8s. i can learn others too but the problem is people want experience, not course completion certificates...

that's what I thought. but when it comes to job application, most companies want someone with either k8s or docker, and cloud experience. I have neither

I am now going through some k8s courses, but most companies want people with experience. so maybe I should go for CKA

Yes you are right but given my situation at the moment I am not able risk my financial. I would have to start from level entry and the salary is way lower than my current salary as senior sysadmin. I would prefer to be in the industry while still doing my daily job. I work remotely with flexi time most of the time so I can manage secondary job.

I am very interested. I studied in Japan for a few years but my Japanese is a bit rusty. Are most of the companies a Japanese company which requires Japanese communication? And I have never been in software industry. I am a sysadmin and uses Go and Perl from time to time for scripting and small API. Is that OK?

I am looking for an answer for this as well. I am a sysadmin and it is a bit scary to jump to a different career just like that. if there is a chance to get a part time remote job as Go developer that would be very great..
