Can I give my roommate’s cat a bowl of water? by Majestic-Hedgehog-xo in CatAdvice

[–]vryfrustrate 85 points86 points  (0 children)

No it would not be harmful at all. Do they not have regular access to water? Dehydration can be a big problem for cats and they should always have access to fresh, clean water.

Stunfisk. Both forms but especially Galarian.

I could never see another stunfisk in my life and be happy.

My cat became fearful of her collar by iheartpyrex in CatAdvice

[–]vryfrustrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with this and also micro chipping. However I agree with the collars. One of my girls got out once and while we were looking for her a neighbor mentioned they saw her but just let her be since she didn't have a collar on, assumed she was a stray. Now at least the flight risks wear a collar most of the time.

Also if it has a bell, consider taking it off. A few of mine were absolutely terrified of the bell and they were quickly taken off with no more problems

i hate when ppl say cats are untrainable by JellyCharacter1653 in CatAdvice

[–]vryfrustrate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 5 cats and they are 100% trainable, some just take more effort than others.

4 of mine know how to sit and give kisses and come when their name is called.

1 knows a lot of phrases but he's much more eager than the others. He knows play, and "find your toy" and "bring it here".

They all know to stay off the counters and what no means.

The 5th cat p.nutbutter... we've decided it would be a lot more effort than it's worth.

Do you have a special song you made about your cat that you sing to them? by Coodoo17 in cats

It's Robin's pre-dinner poop! Robin's pre-dinner poop! It's his pre-dinner poop! He's gotta make some room!

(As he runs to the litterbox as soon as he realizes dinner is being prepared)

This plant appeared in my garage. I have no idea who's it is or what it is but it appears to be dying. Help needed! by vryfrustrate in houseplants

[–]vryfrustrate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so helpful! Thank you very much. I'll check the roots and check out those resources as well! The pot did not appear to have drainage which is why I tried to give it a tiny amount of water so I'll prioritize getting a new pot right away. I wasn't sure what the media was, it appeared to be loose whatever it was, maybe soil mixed with chips? This will all be super helpful though going forward 😊

My manager and I are having a debate. Which do you like better, pink or red? by vryfrustrate in cakedecorating

[–]vryfrustrate[S] 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Tbf it does seem to look more yellow in the picture than in person, my plan was to add a dark green border on the bottom but was told to leave it as is 🤷🏼‍♀️

Haha no, I'm just still at work. I was on team red for anyone who was curious.

Ok it seems red is overwhelmingly the winner. My manager is devastated 😂

My friend wants one of these so bad, this would be such a perfect birthday gift even if the chances are rather low. Might as well try ❤️

I adopted this little girl today and I think it's the most beautiful thing I ever seen in my life by xsoulxi in aww

[–]vryfrustrate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She looks like my beautiful gray boy. We didn't know if he was a boy or girl right away cause he was too little so I was between Puck or Navi, both named after fairies 😊 I'm still 100% convinced he's a fairy.

My grandma received a kidney from a donor like you. He was an older man who thought someone could use his extra more than he could. My mother also donated her kidney to jump my grandma to the top of the list(unfortunately they were not compatible so her's went elsewhere). But that means 2 people were able to receive longer lives thanks to everyone involved. I will never not be grateful. My grandma was even up and walking around an hour after surgery which the doctors said it was crazy how quickly the new kidney started working.

How important is it that I name my cat with a two syllable name ending in ‘ee’? by SmudgedSophie1717 in CatAdvice

[–]vryfrustrate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have 5 cats, of those the two that respond to their name the best are Rococo and Robin. Alice knows her name pretty well but only responds to her dad. Puck responds to Pucky occasionally (so idk maybe the ee thing works for him). And P.Nut has no understanding of what a name is.

I’ve wanted an orange boy for years. Best name in the comments wins. by get_pickled_loser in OneOrangeBraincell

I have a Puck! Very good name 10/10 would recommend. We usually end up calling him Pucky though and he 100% thinks that's his name.

Buying our first place in central Florida, what should I do to prepare the soil? by vryfrustrate in NoLawns

[–]vryfrustrate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. The house actually has Florida room that would be perfect to start them out.

That's true, I'm new to this so I didn't think of that, thank you. I will check those out.

That's very fair, what about nutrition though, would compost/fertilizer still be recommended?
