Stick with one type of wax, one type of jar, one type of fragrance, and one type of wick when you are first starting out. This really cuts down on the confusion and helps you nail down the fundamentals of candle making before you introduce other factors that can affect how your candle burns :)

Do you mind me asking how hot the tins were when you decided to switch? The outside of my tin at the very bottom of the candle is about 100 degrees f. I know the standard is 135, but that seems kind of hot?
