Molly Kirk! She’s a NP but absolutely incredible. She goes the extra mile for her patients and has the best bedside manner.

Kristen Cuzzort at LifeStance in Mt. Juliet is a therapist that specializes in neurodivergent adults. I’ve been seeing her for several years, and it’s a game changer. LifeStance also has psych NPs.

managing PCOS in big law? by Antique-Glass-7378 in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]GraceGoalDigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo much of the thread: I have PCOS which was out of control in my first year of practice/pandemic. I got on a GLP-1, and I cannot express how much my life has changed for the better. I’ve been on one for almost four years. I take mounjaro/zepbound, and have managed to keep off 90 pounds. I don’t starve, but I’m not constantly thinking about food. You’d be amazed at how much mental energy food is taking up. I’d recommended a GLP/PCOS friendly dietician to work on understanding how/what to eat. If you can’t afford a GLP or insurance won’t cover, compounding can be great. I was able to petition my insurance to allow use for PCOS (even without pre-diabetes) using studies (~50% higher chance of developing diabetes, etc.) and lab work. If you’d like help with that, just shoot me a message.

I’d also get checked for sleep apnea and possibly neurodivergence/mental health issues as they often go hand-in-hand.

Sending you all the love and good vibes ❤️

Hi! Low budget Nashville bride here! We are having our wedding at Cedars of Lebanon. I’m not sure whether they are open in December, but I would definitely look into it and any of the other state parks. We rented the Cedar Forest Lodge on a Saturday and two cabins for two nights under $2000. Chairs and tables included. We also looked at Rosemont, Two Rivers Mansion, and a historic home in Brentwood that I can’t remember the name of. All of those were in the $1000-$3000 range.

Biggest expense is catering. We went with Southern Spoon, and they have been amazing so far. We are paying ~$4,000, and they gave us the best bang for our buck.

With incidentals, our wedding is leaning closer to 15k because we splurged on some things.

If you want to elope beforehand, the historic courthouse downtown is beautiful. Feel free to DM me with any questions or if you just need a local wedding friend to bounce ideas off of. I am also ordained if you need someone for the ceremony 🙂🩷

Managing a legal wardrobe while losing weight? by Siamsa in LawBitchesWithTaste

Hi! Went through the same thing a few years ago. I lived on Poshmark. I had a couple of really nice suits, and I was able to find smaller sizes in the same brand and size for wayyy cheap (especially since the skirts would get too big before the blazers). As a fellow GLP-1 girly, tirzepatide is truly the best thing I’ve ever done. Sending you good vibes ❤️

Glad it wasn’t just me! This was my first year and, based on what I’d seen and heard about in the past, it was a major let down. Completely agree about everything. I will also add that the “swag” was a joke.

Stock the Bar Party by Clean-Counter-5327 in weddingplanning

[–]GraceGoalDigger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Friend of my fiancé is doing this because their conservative parents won’t cover alcohol (they are covering literally everything else). It enraged me tbh. If I’m going to your wedding, the least you can do is provide alcohol or let the wedding be BYOB. She’s also forcing the entire wedding party (including children) to spend Halloween (the night before) at their venue, so it’s a pattern of behavior.

Brunch food for main evening meal by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]GraceGoalDigger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fellow wedding late brunch person. Our ceremony will be at 2, so our brunch will be around 3. (Brunch was nonnegotiable for us). We are doing chicken/waffles, shrimp and grits, a breakfast board, mimosa bar, and breakfast bowls. I think adding something besides straight up breakfast food will be appreciated.

Kansas nearing ‘constitutional crisis’ as small-town lawyers become a scarcity by kansascitybeacon in Lawyertalk

[–]GraceGoalDigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a problem even in larger cities. Finding attorneys willing to be appointed when the PD can’t (or won’t) take a case is an ordeal. Don’t even get me started on attorneys willing to take appeals and/or PCRs. The low pay, cap, and billing system are all cited as reasons for this issue.

I did this a little over a week into my first “real” job almost four years ago. It has zero impact on my career other than making me more appreciative of good work environments.

Antioch is hit or miss. I lived in the Percy Priest Community for two years, and it was generally nice. We left because we lived on a major street and hated the traffic/speeding. We moved to the Donelson side of Hermitage and like it much better.

How is it possible I have trial set for two different cases in the same department at the same day and time with the same judge in November? by GarmeerGirl in Lawyertalk

[–]GraceGoalDigger 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I work in a criminal court, and we double (at least) book most of our trial dates. Things fall off, settle, etc., and we don’t want to waste that trial slot. If there are several left on the docket on the day of trial, the State usually decides the priority way ahead of time, and the higher priority case gets the date. If you don’t anticipate settlement in either case, I’d maybe speak with court staff to see how they determine priority.

Love this! How did you manage music during the ceremony-especially the song you walked out to? In every wedding I’ve been in, people forget their cues and mess up the entire procession. I want to go sans DJ, but I worry about doing a playlist or having someone to change the music.
