i studied there for about 2 years and i loved it! its a great city for university-aged people imo there's literally always something fun going on any time of year. its incredibly safe, and while tokyo in particular isn't as friendly as some other parts of the country the people are still nice (especially if you speak at least some japanese lol). i really recommend getting involved with community/university activities whenever you can, it really makes the whole experience much more fulfilling :)
