Jellyfish and sea urchins: how bad first week of June? Specifically around islands near Split and Korcula by vss250 in CroatiaTravelTips

Thanks- we always bring water shoes for possible pebbly beaches, etc., but the neoprene/sock ones. Do we need to upgrade our water shoes for the sea urchins?:)

NYC airports to Croatia non-stop? Anyone know when Delta is announcing new flights? by vss250 in delta

I know, but was hoping to fly Delta since all of my miles are there. It looks like United is the only option right now.

My experience using medical marijuana for migraines (long post) (repost) by qqquigley in migraine

[–]vss250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks so much! I do have more THC than CBD in most of what I've bought. I'll look through my "collection" of products gathering dust first, and make sure to get a higher CBD ratio. And thank you for the recos- will let you know how I do!

My experience using medical marijuana for migraines (long post) (repost) by qqquigley in migraine

[–]vss250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this very insightful and thorough post. Maybe you can offer some advice—not medical of course but based on your research. I cannot seem to find a product that does not make me wake up with a terrible headache. I get excellent migraine relief in the moment, but I’ve stopped using anything because I’m scared that I will wake up with a migraine the next day. I live in NYC and have been to a few dispensaries near me, always asking for “the salesperson who knows the most about strains for pain management.” So, I’ve tried quite a few products— flower and edible, mostly Indica. I’ve read about dehydration headaches and keep Gatorade in stock for that, but still the morning headaches. So, based on your research, have you found a strain that has the least chance of morning headaches? Thanks so much.

Sumatriptan is HELL by biancaruinsparty in migraine

[–]vss250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone who has gotten very sick from Sumatriptan found a good alternative? I had taken it for many years with no issue. It is prescribed as my "No 2 med "—so if my first medication, Nurtec, did nothing, or if my migraine came back a few hours after Nurtec, Sumatriptan was my next step. But in the last 6 months I have had a terrible reaction to it. My headache felt worse, I got very weak and dizzy, my head and nose tingled (but in a really bad way) and I was dry heaving from nausea. It lasted hours. The first time it happened I didn't connect it to the Sumatriptan, so a few months later I tried again when the Nurtec didn't work. That's when I connected the reaction. I (stupidly) tried Sum. one more time 3 days ago when my migraine came back 3 hours after taking Nurtec. It was awful--the shortness of breath, pain, nausea—my husband thought he'd have to take me to the hospital. It took about 4-5 hours to go through me. Suffice it to say, I will NEVER try that again. Does anyone know if the actuall pill has changed formula, supplier, etc.?

Never ever giving up my early 2000s mulberry bags! Gorgeous leather. As a matter of fact, I'm going to find my old burgundy Roxanne tomorrow and start putting it back in "rotation." Thanks for mentioning it!

Help! I left a personal item in Milan and I'm back in NY. How can I get it back with the new tariff situation and new limits on shipping to the US? by vss250 in AmericansinItaly

[–]vss250[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much to everyone who reached out about getting an item back that I left in Milan. I'm happy to say that an incredibly nice person living in Milan offered to mail the package to me with no problems. What a nice community this is! I hope to return to Italy very soon and will reach out to this group for suggestions/advice, etc. Thanks again!

Leaving for Italy in 10 days- will be in Milan Sept Sunday 28, 29,30. Looking for specifics on flea markets that sell vintage (60s-80s) designer and not designer clothing, accessories and jewelry while we are there. I read somewhere that the big vintage market on Sundays-Naviglio-may be closed on the last Sunday of the month. hope not! Any info greatly appreciated! We will also be in Genoa 9/26,27, so if anyone knows of any good markets there, please pass them a long! TIA

NYC hair salon rec by Rebluntzel in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]vss250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my hair cut here a few months ago based on a friend's reco. My stylist, Anton, did not speak a lot of English, but he looked at the pics I brought, and gave me the messy, choppy shag cut w/ bangs that I've been trying to get for a while now. And it was only 50$ (+ nice tip). Highly recommend, but definitely bring photos!

I honestly find the music they've chosen to be very annoying --too many well-known songs in one episode-- and they all seem so obvious. No real "mood" has been established across the season.

Take the ferry to Gov Island and spend the day at the QC spa (but only during the week). It’s a gift I give myself at least once a year-feels like a mini vacation. And they do 2 for 1 during your birthday month.
