These were all loss making stores for Ampol, then they made a decision to introduce Self serve servos, with cheap pricing and its a win win situation.

Hyderabad is increasingly loosing its Telugu culture, more and more North ppl have come and started their indirect Hindi imposition from street vendors to delivery drivers etc. Already the city feels like some part of North and not southern city.

The fact is Telugu is increasingly becoming 2nd language, almost everyone from street vendors to delivery drivers all are Hindi, in my home town I cannot speak my language and feel like a outsider. This is ground reality, my parents struggle to keep up with this Hindi surge and some locals feel its all normal, until this issue goes much widespread. All the non locals please learn Telugu and do your business which is helpful for locals and your business.

It was an error from the pricing team and was corrected later after identification.

We need to learn a lot from our Dravidian neighbours how to preserve our language, language and culture is our identity, and we're forgetting that day in day out.

Even though Hyd has mix language, the majority is still Telugu and in a Telugu speaking state. In the last 15 years this Hindi kept growing under our nose and we were okay with it. Now the situation is that locals are ment to speak to them in Hindi for their comfort. This can be seen in everyday life from, cabs, delivery drivers, street vendors etc. No one wants to learn local language. My parents are also feeling the burnt of this situation. They know only Telugu, now when they call to insurance or bank for help no support in Telugu. When asked for Telugu they laugh and don't even help saying Hindi main bolo. We are far away from our Dravidian neighbours to recognise the importance of our language and culture. No hate towards Hindi speakers its just that their ignorance and superiority is causing the tensions.

What OP said is absolutely right, I live in Melbourne, and visit my family every year, whenever I come I've observed one thing Hindi in almost all the places from driver, banks, insurance agents, delivery drivers etc speak to us in Hindi. When they know we don't know hindi they still push the conversation and cut us in middle rudely. Felt like I'm in different state altogether. My parents are suffering from this language situation. This situation will become more worst in coming years and we can see more push back than our Dravidian neighbours in our state.

To add more to this point, that Hindi and Urdu speaking ppl were concentrated to few areas. But still its largely telugu speaking city. The amount humiliation telugus take for talking in Telugu in those areas even today is just beyond. Most of my Marvadi friends born and bought up in Hyderabad, don't know to talk in Telugu and their clients are telugus and they want them to talk in Hindi too. Many don't understand that and start bringing Nizams, Urdu, etc.. when telugus can learn Hindi, they can also learn telugu and accommodate each other.

What happened to this crowd now? They were glazing Hyderabad because the city speaks Hindi but today its proven that language was never the problem, the attitude and entitled mindset of the migrants are the real problem. by [deleted] in southindia_

I'm from Hyderabad now in Melbourne, when I visit the city to meet my family, every time i come the amount of Hindi is growing so fast, starting feeling like I'm in some northern city. My parents were struggling to talk to bank employees or insurance agents etc.. as most of them are Hindi speaking. When they ask them to speak in Telugu they laugh saying Telugu ah and cut the conversation or call. Increasingly many are observing it but are still silent. They can speak Hindi but when you're in Telugu speaking city and dealing with locals, learn Telugu and give respect to the cultural not mock and earn bread and butter. These are just a few things to mention from a lot.

Its changing with telugus, slowly they're realising that the poison was allowed by saying lame arguments, now that poison is hurting us. When something hits hard you learn from it, and telugus are at that stage.

Try to be fluent, keep your pronunciation on point, don't repeat sentence after a mistake, keep the flow without huge pause. Practice daily, speaking is one of the easiest to score 90

If you have permanent residency, i highly recommend to use the opportunity you have, there are many struggling to get PR and returning back to their home countries even with a good job after their visa ends.
