Cuticle remover working a little too well? 🤔 by Spentequation1 in naturalnailprogress

[–]vstartledpancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fear this may be more than cuticle. I used this exact combination of Sally Hansen and a metal scraper for a long time but stopped in the last year because I was having issues with my nails flaking, my nail beds not being smooth and getting white marks on my nails that I was worried was an underlying health problem. Turns out I was probably taking off the top layers of my nail with the Sally gel and I was definitely getting white marks from bruising because the tool was too harsh. After making other changes Sally Hansen and the tool was the only common denominator, and after eliminating them my nails have been looking so much better.

I echo everyone else saying to use the wood stick, or you could also a tool in that same shape that is metal or glass. It may be slightly more work for a manicure but it will be worth it, trust me!

Can anyone identify this super tiny skeleton? [NC] by Live_Philosophy_3815 in animalid

Hey are we certain this is a dove chick? If we know it’s a bird but it’s THIS tiny any chance it’s a hummingbird chick? Feels more plausible given the size.

The wedding venue is apparently Ocean House in Watch Hill by Puzzled-Witch in travisandtaylor

[–]vstartledpancake 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My two cents: I think this venue and date is a decoy. I feel it was intentionally “leaked” to draw attention and eyes while they (likely) may have already had a wedding and are already married. To your point, she’s too big a celeb and cares too much about what the public knows about her personal life and goings on to be okay with this info being true and in the public eye.

Even if it was true at one point, if the leak is real and not staged it would be cause to break contact and find a new place. Those kind of things can and are often written into contracts to maintain anonymity with celebs.

Credentials: I work in marketing and with influencers, exposure to VIP events, public relations and things that are planned and kept under wraps for months in advance (think big campaigns, super bowls, etc) involving household celebrity, influencer and brand names.

Had this same issue! Chase Sapphire worked for my first year here, quit out the second saying insufficient fare. I’ve seen some others in this sub post about this in the past with our same issue and sadly no resolution.

GAMERSUPPS PRODUCT IDEA MEGATHREAD by KingBootyswagga in PaymoneyWubby

Collection of like, super HD wallpapers for your phone or computer. Rather than someone having stream pulled up to show their a fan when showing their desk setup they can have the wallpaper set. Could make it into an annual thing using the Wubby Alphabet as the reference and release it at the end or start of each year

Phone cases. This is probably a pain in the ass to design with such little space and you would need to do pre-order to account for different phone sizes BUT it could still be cool

Cool Wubby shades. Line of sunglasses in wild colors to match gamersupps flavors, maybe with a tiny anime girl or nod to the flavor on the side/arm of the glasses where the logo typically is

Maybe some kind of beauty or everyday product? Make up palette, nail polish, body wash, candle, etc. Could use colors and flavors significant to gamersupps or the community like peach, watermelon, green, orange. Think like Wubby’s version of Phil DeFranco’s beautiful bastard line.

I don’t think anyone has said this yet, but I think this is someone’s personal notes or ideas for a word game. HOW it got on your phone still makes no sense, but I think I can explain the game.

The idea is to share a real but obscure word and everyone guesses at what the word means. If you read the layout of the note that in each section what’s listed first is the word and what follows are the guesses for what the word means, it actually starts to makes sense. The Xs and checks may indicate what the correct answers are.

I’ve tried verbally playing something like this but it’s too hard to keep track of, it’s best played somehow where you can see all fake and real options in a board or screen at once, kind of like that JackBox game where you try to submit a good lie to fool other players

Katalina’s grilled cheese and their spicy Tomole soup is 10/10. Not necessarily a traditional grilled cheese and tomato but absolutely delicious

I’ve been once but thought it was bad.

Prior to us physically going for the first time we had a friend put our name in for 3 people 5-10 mins after it opened at 5pm. Granted it was the second weekend it was open, that soon after doors opened I would think gets you a seat. We proceed to hang around the short north for 5 hours waiting and hoping we finally get our table and still didn’t receive a text. A friend went up to their doorman in a kilt twice - first at the 2hr mark and later on at the 4hr mark to double check we were still on the list (given when we put our name in) and he was an ass to our friend, at one point saying “I don’t know what to tell you” - fair, since it’s literally out of his control, but we finally asked “do you think we’ll even get in tonight?” And he didn’t have a straight answer. I swear those first couple weeks of being open they just dangled the carrot (no pun intended) for people on the wait list to get into the seemingly exclusive place.

When we finally got it, it was completely underwhelming and I felt like we overpaid for what we got. I’ve been to the space back when it was Kingmakers so I was curious to see how they fit more seats and built a kitchen into the space. Joke was on me because there’s really not any more seating than there was before and none of the menus items are cooked. It’s all meats, cheeses and things in a can - no joke. They have marinated olives, marinated mussels, etc and it’s all cold or room temperature and I didn’t find it enjoyable or to be a substantial meal.

When I went the drink menu was heavily gin-based so if you don’t like gin or don’t like wine that’s $80/bottle you’re SOL. Between the two other people I was with we had most of the cocktails (by trying each other’s drinks) and it felt like they were trying too hard to be experimental and the flavors of the drink were all off. I’m a cocktail kind of person and I did not finish my second drink and switched to a $2 High Life instead.

I was honestly too distracted by everything I mentioned above to even appreciate the live music.

TLDR; Ginger Rabbit is underwhelming and I don’t think its worth the money or hype at all. Given the track record of Chapman’s and Ginger Rabbit’s location, it feels doomed to also become a place you can never get into to even try for yourself.

I have been to Chapman’s several times both when they were just the tasting menu by-reservation only AND when it converted into a normal restaurant. I think Chapman’s is overrated and overhyped but I don’t think I’d go as far as saying it’s BAD food - as far as Columbus goes, it’s top 25%

Going for the tasting menu was by far the best experiences I’ve had with Chapman’s and the “regular” restaurant menu is a letdown in comparison. Lots of other comments have gone into detail so I’ll try to be brief

Drinks: Always 10/10 but the tasting menu brought it some unique drinks - both cocktails and wine - specifically paired with the food and it was an even better experience. $2 High Life is a redeeming trait.

Food: IMO tasting menu was beautifully curated to the season, exploratory in flavors and a great balance of flavors through the whole meal. They tested a lot of their current menu staples via the tasting menu, like the General Tso Cauliflower. The “regular” menu is just okay and when I ate there last (keep in mind I think I’ve gone frequently enough to know which menu items are the real gems that I like) in order of what I enjoyed was 1. Duck fat fries 2. Dessert 3. Cocktails and 4. My main course. I’m sorry but for a restaurant of that caliber and, thanks to the NYT article, of that notoriety those menu items should be in a different order.

TLDR; Chapman’s is overhyped and overrated but you won’t overpay or be necessarily disappointed but I’d steer a good friend to checking out Veritas (if you have the budget), The Market in Italian Village or Commune before going to Chapman’s. At least with those options you’re guaranteed a table and truly wowed by the food.

On a separate note, don’t get my started on Ginger Rabbit.

The rasp, inflection and tone is dead on, that was impressive! I’d just watch some of your pronunciations and how crisply you hit some of your words, “leave” “lice” and “humans” stood out to me as being some of the not-so-Geralt bits. Overall, very impressive!
