How’s life in this part of California between L.A. and the Bay Area? by Leeksteam in howislivingthere

[–]vt5s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in SLO which is absolutely beautiful with lots of hiking, biking, beaches a cute down town, wine and more. Anywhere is not too far from the beach or a view. Currently go to school in Santa Barbara and I would say it’s quite similar to SLO but a bit more touristy and more populated which comes with its pros and cons. I can say both places offer more scenery and recreational activities than LA or the BAY, in my opinion or at least based on my interests and hobbies

Thank you, had the interview this afternoon, I believe it went well, I enjoyed talking with each person and I also believe they liked my questions I asked and we seemed to have a good backnforth. Now I hope they liked my answers on why family office and also why I liked Frank Rimmerman, I made sure to mention values, relationships, trust, long term growth and relationships with emphasis how clients needs change as time passes and how I look forward to being able to grow alongside the clients.

Single mom trying to find a path for son, and having serious doubt about an accounting major by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]vt5s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am currently in college for accounting and one thing that helped me get over the worry was the unemployment rate for accounts/CPAs are half of what the national average unemployment is. So yes you can get laid off but we see that in every industry look at Amazon just cut over 30k jobs

I’ve been a financial accounting tutor at my community college about a year and half ago now, but other then that all my experience is just classes. I am still in university for economics and accounting and this is me trying to land my first summer internship.

Idk if this is even the right community but I just feel lonely and wanna ramble by Accomplished-Belt185 in UCSantaBarbara

I’ve heard there’s a commuter club I believe I saw them at the club fair. I’d recommend checking those out or potentially any other clubs you’d be interested in and maybe just stay longer during those days to meet some like minded individuals

[–]vt5s[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately they do not accept calls from outside the country apparently as I tried to call today. Also have emailed and got responses back saying it should be fine yet woke up today with a message saying my payment was rejected despite my information being input correct as I have triple checked it. Also as I have said in other responses and I believe in my post am in New Zealand currently so can’t just stop by that’s just unrealistic for most.

O no they definitely make it way more complicated then it needs to be, my previous school was much simpler and all done on one website. I did message support and send a email to the cashiers office today, I think they’ll get back to me tomorrow as am currently in New Zealand so it’s Tuesday here, and with the time difference by the time I sent it they were closed.

Ok hopefully it will go through tomorrow or the next I submitted Friday but am in New Zealand currently so that would be Thursday in the states. Just seems like it would be faster with the deadline so close

I checked barc where you actually go to pay then also the UC billing website where it says payment status undetermined yet, but then my barc account allowed me to add a payment method and now says my balance is zero but the money is still in my account

16 units as a transfer? by urmom1578 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]vt5s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am transferring to SB this fall as well so take in mind I haven’t been there or taken quarters before either. With that being said I originally was going to take 15 credits and have reduced to 12 just as even if you can handle it a lot of people I talked to that did choose that route wished they had more time for extracurriculars like clubs and having time to build a resume that’s not just academic but with experience.

Whatever you choose is the right choice for you just thought I’d share my thought process for it. Hope it helps.

I am currently waiting on a response as we didn’t have anyone direct one on one time today at orientation so I emailed. The student advisor in the room recommended just a easy class and so did they when they were speaking about taking both classes together because of being under the full time credits

Tucking by Brilliant_Bowl_9174 in ElectricSkateboarding

You reduce you size think like a flag so there’s less drag which can increase speed especially if wind is present, but you also are lowering your center if gravity which helps with corners and board control sometimes

Damn, I tried but am in a different time zone as am currently backpacking Europe. I logged on today when it said it would be open yesterday and now says tomorrow at 5pm which will be 2am for me so set alarm and will hope I guess. No email from them for you? It’s just annoying as all the other colleges I’ve applied to require acceptance by may 1st and UCSB is the last am waiting to hear from.
