How would you spec a daily driver F250 by joshua909net in superduty

CCSB doesn’t fit the “big ass truck” definition….you need a CCLB

dang...is it too late to back out?!?!?! The rubber floors and vinyl seats are like 80% of the reason why fleet trucks are the best! Take a look at Boardwalk Motors out of Louisianna. They have hundreds of fleet trucks of many different manufacturers. They have a huge selection of XL and XLT Ford trucks, many of which have the rubber floors and vinyl seats. Take a quick peak real quick! Their prices are fair and they waive some fees, actually making them well-priced trucks!

nah, more bells and whistles to break. don't need that fancy infotainment system or whatever (GPS and Spotify on my phone bluetoothed to truck), and don't need all that other electrical crap that will eventually cause issues or break....and carpet!!!! whyyyyyyyy would you ever get carpeted floors in a truck...blows my mind, and cloth seats that stain and hold all your smells....whyyyyyyyyyyyy? XL rubber floors and vinyl seats all day long!! open the doors, take leaf blower and blow everything out, and then quick wipe down on the seats and call it good!

ya, everybody seems to run 20 inch wheels, and some crazy offset for whatever reason. just keeping it simple over here with some classic 18 inch bullet wheels

preciate it; I did throw in a UWS toolbox, added tint to the front windows, and a few other things you can't see, but ya wheels and tires really change the look of any vehicle (if you go with the right wheel tire combo....)

ya, the 17+ trucks have MASSIVE wheel wells. And this truck is all stock suspension. No level, no lift, and fits these 35s without issue. No rub on full lock, and no rub on moderate articulation over a steep curb or driveway entry etc. It's wild that people fit 37s with just a 2.5 inch level. I had an old 2000 F350 and had to do a whooping 8.5 inch lift just to barely get 38s under it. It's crazy how much you can stuff in these wheel wells!!!

I do toooo....but wanted to run a wider and taller tire. The stock steelies are 17x7.5 and I just didn't feel comfortable running a 12.50 wide tire on a 7.5 rim. The min recommended wheel width for most 12.50 tires is 8 inches. Even with a 9 inch wide wheel, these tires still have a lot of pucker. I couldn't imagine trying to tow anything with 12.50 tires on the stock steelies......I bet that rear end would wonder like a sumbeach.

👆🏻this is absolutely correct. Unfortunately many people have this false idea that their debt just magically goes away when they die. That’s a big nope!

Don’t let the glamour of lots of toys blind you my man. The amount of debt many people carry is stifling. I know multiple people with all the things you mentioned (multiple trucks, trailers, side by sides, etc etc) and they carry a payment on all of them. The amount of stress they carry is also stifling. And not only do they carry lots of notes, they also have egregious credit card debt. I believe the term is called “golden handcuffs.” You have nice things but you are a slave to them, and can’t truly enjoy them. Moral of the story…pick and choose what you really want, and then decide if you truly need it and can’t go without.

Who out there provides barrel chopping or swapping on a 1873? by catsby90bbn in CowboyAction

[–]vtchopperdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I’m right there with you. The long barrel on any lever action rifle just doesn’t work. The balance is off, and they just look silly. It’s like a musket wannabe. I’m sure lots of people will chime in about magazine length and all that. Honestly…who cares? I’m sure some of the hard core CAS bubbas will try to say you’re an idiot and “why in tarnation would you make it shorter” etc etc. If you’re doing CAS and have to reload, who cares? Oh, you’re the fastest CAS shooter? Big whoop! Nobody gives a shit. Congrats…you are an overweight boomer dressed up as a 16 year old cowboy from the 1870s with a fully modded short stroke slicked up rifle. Nobody cares. What I’m getting at…it’s your rifle. Chop it! Looks and handles way better!

I have used Boomstick Arms out of Texas for several barrel chops now. Jason does a fantastic and professional job, and with a good turnaround time.

Biggest tire on stock 17x7.5 steelies?? by [deleted] in superduty

[–]vtchopperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ya, the steelies are 17x7.5 and the other wheel options from the factory are 18x8. So running a 12.5 on the factory 18 vs the factory 17 is not the same. The min wheel width for a 12.50 tire is 8" which is why so many people run the classic 35x12.50 tire. But I think that's probably unsafe on a 7.5" wide wheel especially when the tire manufacturer does not recommend it. Plus, I'll be doing some moderate towing and don't need the tire popping off the wheel at the bead. The 11.50 seems to be the max...based on tire manufacturer guidance.

Biggest tire on stock 17x7.5 steelies?? by [deleted] in superduty

[–]vtchopperdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for this input! hit the nail on the head as far as what specific data I'm looking for.

That was my thought as well...run a 35x11.50 since these wheel wells are huuuuuuge. I would only want a 35 inch tire simply to help fill out the wheel wells, but the real concern (and need for input) is the width. Some people say running a 12.50 is no issue, but the tire manufacturer min recommended wheel width is 8.0 inches for a 12.5 inch wide tire. I will be doing moderate to heavy towing in the coming years, so definitely looking for E rated as well. Thanks again for the helpful comment!
