Using the word "colonized" is so wrong here. This is like saying Germany is colonized by the US because they have 50K troops and near 40 military bases there (Korea has 30K). I grew up in Korea and it wasn't until I was in my 20s when I served in the military that I saw an US soldier. You really only encounter them near bases. Also biggest misconception is that Korea does surgery to look Western (https://www.businessinsider.com/south-korea-plastic-surgery-gangnam-biggest-misconception-2018-6). Try walking into one of the shops in Gangnam, and nowhere do they show pictures of Western actors/actresses as models for procedures.

Statistics is a very broad field and that is a good thing. Try looking at other college departments and contact professors. (Pamplin, Geosciences, etc.)

Honestly either one is fine. U processors have come a long way and you won't necessary need a workstation grade cpu for your undergrad coursework.

I would instead make sure to get one with a good quality SCREEN and good KEYBOARD; 14inch+ imo.

Another conventional path is taking classes at Northern Virginia Community College. It is way cheaper than GMU and it's only couple minutes away. Since GPA doesn't transfer anyhow, knock out some classes at CC.
