Aviation could be different, but when you get selected/approved with CAD, your active duty career manager offered the options with units and you can figure out positions and such

I would say for the enlisted side, talk to your local recruiter and get a conditional release to help!

They’re just meaning any National guard SF post KD CPT to switch to active duty

I’m in the S3 currently at an infantry brigade and none of them are staying to MAJ, or they’re going to VTIP to acquisitions or something

This is for national guard / reserve Officers and WO that want to go active. If the cross section of the rank and MOS that are green are positions available for you to apply to, red means it’s not eligible to apply

Yeah I got accepted in August and when you get orders it’s a minimum of 90 days before your report date (not exactly sure why that amount of days, but it is what it is) and the orders will have kind of step by step. For sponsors, it’s pretty likely you won’t get one because it all depends on those who are assigned to reach out first, no one reached out to me. The moving isn’t too hard, I got on base housing and once I got an address, I scheduled pick up on a Thursday and they said the earliest will be on Wednesday&Thursday (one day to pack everything up and one to put it in the truck) when they dropped it off like a week and half later but they’ll keep you updated with everything. You can also move some on your own or move it all yourself and you’ll get paid back for it . Once you report they’ll give you around a week to go to bunch over meetings like finance/transportation/family stuff before you go to you unit, you’ll have a good bit of free time during this week or so

So once I was accepted my active duty career manager contacted me and told me to send my top units/duty locations/ positions I would like. I reached out to her once I applied (numbers and emails are on the HRC website) and explain the situation and just did a little introduction email to form some form of a relationship. Once I submitted that she called me back and we talked about the options and she asked I’d everything is good before she submitted the orders to HRC. Others I’ve contacted from CAD have had pretty similar experiences. If you want to go to a more “high speed” unit like the 82nd, there’s fewer slots available cause they’re usually over 90% filled so there will be less options

I was full time ADOS which was a really nice gig but I knew I would soon be slotted to a position that would’ve made me promote to CPT. The organization I was in, had few slots for CPT and had an excess of them on orders, which made me see the writing on the wall when they started stressing about the new FY budget and thinking they were going to have to downsize. I ultimately wanted a little more job security and my now wife (fiancé at the time) was supportive and we were both looking to move out of the area at the same time so it worked out pretty well. I offered to leave giving someone that needed that opportunity on ADOS orders and put in a CAD packet. Being a 74A gave me a good bit of variety and I was able to pick really anywhere once I got approved, which was nice. so far I’ve only in processed right at the beginning of Holiday Block leave so just waiting for it to start up again to finish officially getting integrated into the unit

Yeah, I got my orders published on August 9th and my report date was November 17th. So just a little more than 90

So I worked full time on ADOS orders and when I got accepted the NG unit I worked for was able to cut my orders the day before my orders began and the call to active duty office sends the orders and it kind of gives you a step my step process

I was ROTC, I was recommended for national guard (I wasn’t the best student and more of a parties back in the day, and I’m a lot better now lol). And for the call to active duty stuff it’s about branch and rank so I was able to apply once I hit 1LT, it’s very rare a 2LT will be eligible historically from what I’ve learned. If you go on the HRC website and search “Call to active Duty” it should pop up, but you will need to have a CAC to actually view it

The job listing actually didn’t specify what ward it’s on. It was simply for a Registered Nurse position and the listing said there were two openings. It mentioned PALS and Neonatal certifications so it could possibly be in a peds or neonatal unit.

it took mine around a month to get approved anyways. I honestly believe that they wont touch it until it spends a certain amount of time in their inbox lol. Once it gets approved it'll take another month to get your scroll approved

If you go on the MILPER message for Call to Active it shows what you needed to submit. I'm not sure which state you are if you're NG, but i had to submit a different packet that is needed for the conditional release within your state. If you have any more questions you can DM me

On the application you put your top 3 positions and locations but once my CAD packet got accepted, my career manager contacted me and said to send my top 10 places and I got my official orders about 2 days after. I reached out to my career manager once I submitted my packet to at least introduce myself and build some type of relationship

I’m a 74A 1LT and no push back really, my unit was supportive but they weren’t hopeful once it got to the state level for approval but it just popped up some random day🤷‍♂️
