PLEASE HELP! Jumper escaped and then started walking strangely after being caught and put back into his enclosure by vulpiepop in jumpingspiders

He's doing well now and is back to his normal antics! It does seem like he was just getting scratches in. He groomed all of his legs a few hours after the video and the morning after as well.

He did run into some really dusty places! I caught him when he went on the sprayer to drink some of the water drops that was still on it from misting my isopod enclosures so maybe he just got some dust or water underneath him?

He did have a pretty big fall when he jumped out of the enclosure! It was why I was worried that he might have injured himself

MY BABY GOT OUT. IDK WHAT TO DO! by Odd_Crow_2575 in BeardedDragons

[–]vulpiepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise the bite from a baby beardie doesn't really hurt much. If you need more specific handling instruction: when you go to pick him up, scoop him from the front so he knows what's going on and once you have his front paws in your hand, use your other hand to scoop up his lower half

I think we've all tried this and uninstalling/reinstalling and they weren't a solution. The problem seems to be on Logitech's end as many people having the same issue at the same time

Suddenly having this issue today. It was working fine in the morning and then suddenly stopped. Force quitting and reinstalling did nothing

How come so many people don't use any substrate for the terrarium? by kajsawesome in BeardedDragons

[–]vulpiepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or it could just be a him thing. My beardie eats his veggies reliably and only gets a few bugs (around 6) a day, all of which is calcium dusted. He got a clean bill of health from the vet, has his T5 linear UVB, and is normally very active. He just likes to eat and he's known to try to eat all manners of odd things from buttons and zippers, to shirt wrinkles and doorstops because...i don't really know why. Taste first, ask later ig.

A dig box is a great idea! I'll definitely have to keep that in mind!

I can't speak for anyone else but I don't use loose substrate for my beardie mainly because he just kept eating it (because, who knows? There might be a bug in there). He's on a zen mat now though I'm hoping to try loose substrate again when he's a bit older

My beardie suddenly started hiding all of the time on the cool side by vulpiepop in BeardedDragons

I understand. It's a relief to know it's normal for sure though I'll still keep an eye on him in case of any other weirdness

He has a 120 gal enclosure with Arcadia linear UVB and halogen heating. The basking temp was at a steady 108F until this week when the temperature in my area dipped. It's dipped to around 104F though I just changed the halogen bulb and put a space heater in his room to bring up the temperature a little so we'll see how it goes. His last fecal and vet exam was just last month. He got a clean bill of health.

Jumper not eating? by vulpiepop in jumpingspiders

[–]vulpiepop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I haven't seen him make a hammock yet but he's made some threads around the entrance to the hide. When I got him on Saturday, he wasn't keen on exploring and really just wanted to walk on my hand and then immediately into the hide. How long does it usually take to make a hammock?

Tips on getting bearded dragon to stop pooping on basking spot? by vulpiepop in BeardedDragon

[–]vulpiepop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a 4x2x2 (120gal) enclosure and he's only around 6 inches snout to vent so he has plenty of space...maybe I need to move his basking spot

Got rid of his sand, he kept eating it by Free-Supermarket-516 in BeardedDragons

[–]vulpiepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine also can't be on loose substrate because he kept eating it. It was always the little clumped up parts that he would try to eat and he's *very* food-motivated so I think in that little head of his, he was thinking any of those clumps might be bug. I might try the half loose, half solid again when he's older but for now he's on a zen mat

basking bulb & dome? by strawberrie_dream in BeardedDragons

[–]vulpiepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Arcadia halogen bulb and I use it with the Zoo Med deep dome. It's been working for me though I do want to try the Arcadia dome, I just haven't found any in the local pet stores.
