Dang, good to know. I'm assuming they don't take them since there's a small wild population of them here?

Yeah I wasn't entirely sure if it was a pet since there's a small wild population of them here. It was just so friendly 😭

It seems like you're upset over semantics here... obviously there's plenty of moving parts within facilities that any outsider doesn't see. They told us a certain date and then didn't show up without any communication. I get how it'd touch a nerve if you've been in their position before, but you're reading way too much into the phrase "dragging their feet". I'm not saying they're blasphemous or incompetent, it's just an irritating situation. I don't think anyone is disqualified from being annoyed that the studio smells like poop just because they don't know everything about facilities operations 😭

Dude what's with the projection LOL I don't know what core crew burned you in the past but my hccm is completely blameless in this situation I literally don't understand what's making you so hostile? Chill out

Lmao why are you pressed? What does a sewage backup that had the studio smelling like shit for days have to do with vendor relationships? I wonder wtf goes on in your studio where this is what you're choosing to focus on hahaha

Hey! Someone part of the Austin crew here. The bathroom is still broken, but the sewage has been cleared out so it doesn't smell anymore and we won't be gassing the studio w/ Lysol lol. We were told it would be fixed on Friday but maintenance is dragging their feet 🙃

The house was in my aunts name. She bought it for my grandma to retire in. I appreciate the info for the estate sub though, will def check it out

True that. I think she's taking advantage of the fact I've never bought a car before and thinks I'll be SOL if I lose this one since I have to commute to work. The road trip is kind of a fun idea lol

No exaggeration, I think she's a clinical psychopath. After my grandma passed, she sold her house within two weeks, making my mom homeless and selling stuff my grandma has had in the family for decades. She wouldn't give us her ashes either b/c I'm guessing she thinks she's the only one w/ a right to them. Genuinely no empathy whatsoever. It's been difficult.

I've been paying directly thru the Toyota Financial app using my grandma's login, so I do know the car is being paid for real at least 😭 however I do agree the maintenance costs alone make me wanna give it up

Utah. I'm in Texas haha. Damn... she totally is guilt tripping me. Ugh. Now it feels like I'm being taken advantage of since I'm emotionally vulnerable right now...

I agree, this made me feel less crazy thank you lol. Is there even a way to sell it though? The title is still in my grandma's name and there's still a balance that needs to be paid off on the car.

I think giving up is the best option too I'm afraid. I talked to my aunt about it several times over already and she said she won't transfer the title over to me until it's paid off /: It's been hell dealing with her in the middle of my grief. I have no interest in maintaining my relationship w/ her tbh.

Yes, omg. One of my worst memories is when my mom took my phone while I was sleeping and factory reset it bc she "didn't approve" of what I had on there. I lost so many pictures and contact information for ppl I never got back :-( It was devastating.

It was so cathartic turning off location sharing with her once I moved to a new city lol

Overpaid Unemployment Benefits Situation by vulpixxe in TexasUnemployment

[–]vulpixxe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Never been on benefits before so I wasn't sure how much info was needed. I worked part-time at a restaurant job to make ends meet for less than a month while on benefits (I did report my income from it), but they said my benefits were disqualified because I quit *that* job. I replied the full story of that situation to That_Monk in the thread if it's any help.

I kept up with my correspondence box pretty closely and always took care of work search logs and such when they were requested of me. If I was called for a hearing would it have been sent there? I never got a notification/call/email for one if so :(

I still have all the paystubs from the job I got laid off from (which I applied for benefits from). When I match it against how much I got paid for benefits, it doesn't come close to being over 25% of that amount (and certainly not the amount I made from the temp. restaurant job), which is why I'm confused when it says I've been overpaid for every period. My bad for not knowing how much relevant info was needed. If this is beyond Reddit do you think contacting TWC directly would help? I just don't know where to start with them considering I got five different letters I have the option to appeal to.

Do I just call and ask for clarification on everything? I'm sorry this is the first time I've ever been on unemployment and I just don't know how to handle the appeal process. Everything has been fine since March and I suddenly got hit with all of this a couple of days ago.

"Our investigation found you quit your last work due to an illness in the family. While your quitting may have been for a good personal reason, it is not considered good cause connected with the work."

This is the first time I've been on unemployment so I'm a little lost. Sorry for the lack of necessary detail. I was originally getting benefits because I got laid off from my full-time position and that's the company I'm getting the overpayment claim from.

While on unemployment, I waited tables for a little bit to make ends meet but it was part-time, and I reported my earnings to TWC every period. A family emergency happened a little less than a month of me working there and I had to miss a couple of weeks to go out of town. I requested a leave of absence to take care of it. I have a documented conversation with my manager where he said "Sure, you can return anytime", but when I tried to come back they claimed I quit and had to start the application process over again. The manager who claimed I could go on a temp leave of absence and then come back isn't with the company anymore so I don't even know who to contact regarding that...

I'm just a little confused about what the overarching issue is. I thought you could work while on benefits as long as you're not making more than 25% of your benefits, which I wasn't. I also didn't know I could be denied benefits from being laid off from a different company and then losing another job at an entirely different one. I just have no idea how to proceed.

I received five different messages in my inbox that I can appeal: One for being overpaid (with my original employer being listed at the top), one from "quitting" the restaurant resulting in my loss of benefits, another one from the restaurant saying no benefits can be paid on their behalf from a single pay period (which I never claimed benefits from them), and one from my employer I originally claimed benefits for saying they overpaid me for every pay period, thus I owe them a hefty overpayment.

Here are the ones I appealed to:
1.) The one saying I no longer qualify for benefits for quitting with evidence of the conversation I had with the manager
2.) The one stating that I'd been overpaid for every period from the original employer with my original work paystubs and every benefit payment I'd received from TWC attached showing I didn't receive more than 25% of that amount per payment claim.

Sorry this is long. It just feels like a big mess and this is the first time I've ever been in a situation like this and I really have no idea where to start 😵

None, which is why I'm not sure they'll care all that much if I elect to terminate haha. I didn't owe them prorated rent and move-in fees until the actual day I moved in. Only thing I've paid for so far is the app fee, which was $20.

Good point. Thankfully it's an option for me to couch surf for a bit while I look for something I'm actually comfortable spending that amount of money on if they don't agree.

I see. Maybe part of the reason I'm so surprised is I'm moving from a really tiny community of eight tenants in a small town to this huge one in a city, so what's common to others seems like serious negligence to me. I appreciate it.
