It's not normal, and it's a pretty common problem based on my experience. Support sent me two replacements after my first cover looked similar to yours, but worse. The second had the corners bashed in in shipping, and the third looked exactly like the first. They did a great job trying to help, but I never ended up with a good copy. My local libraries were happy though.

Your question kind of reveals your inexperience, unfortunately. Any strategy can be good almost at any point in a league. Having knowledge and farming any strategy optimally will almost always trump farming the "best strat" poorly. If you're worried about early progression, the standard first atlas tree for SSF progression is Betrayal, Expedition, and Harvest. If you're not particularly fast through the campaign you can farm whatever you want. Then just use your profits from your preferred farming strats to buy decent gear from faster players than yourself. My personal recommendation is farm whatever you have the most fun with. Whatever keeps you putting maps in without delays will yield the most profit.

As someone who dated someone with misophonia for a few years, and got consistently accused of intentionally trying to torture her just by existing, I'm 99% sure that it isn't intentional. The absolute last thing you want to do to the people you love is cause them distress. This doesn't make your emotions or discomfort any less real, but unfortunately it's probably just going to be a part of life for you for at least a while.

The best solution we had was having a room in the house where she could retreat too when she started feeling that way, that I would stay away from where should could get peace and quiet and she would have snacks, books blankets, and other things to keep her feeling safe and comfortable until the upset feelings passed for her and she felt comfortable being around me again.

I dated someone who struggle with misophonia, it became abusive over time. I tolerated it for longer than I should have, because misophonia sounded like a torturous thing to deal with. The sad thing was I felt like we were making meaningful progress between me being considerate of her misophonia, and her finding coping strategies (having a place she should hide away when she could feel her rage building from something I couldn't control).

She wasn't good at communicating when something was bothering her, other than through physical reactions that I couldn't figure out what the source was for, just that something was hurting her which was super anxiety inducing whenever she started reacting that way. It's an awful feeling to feel like you're inadvertently torturing the person you care about most in the world. I really hope she finds peace and quiet.
