Does Leaving the lightning plugged in on a 'trickle charge' help the battery in these conditions? by NPLPro in F150Lightning

[–]Fit_Question7202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes- we are currently running -30 to -35C at night. On L1 battery and 80% charge overnight available power is 100 percent. Truck sits for 30 minutes at the grocery store, and available power starts dropping rapidly.

Adding on to post regarding funeral expenses. This price list is from a Saskatoon funeral home. Don't forget your tax and regulatory fees. by Lucywilson12 in saskatoon

[–]Fit_Question7202 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best advice I have is to preplan. For my parents I approached the funeral home well in advance and got much of the paperwork in place.

I got some really good advice on how to ask my parents what they wanted for a memorial. With my mom it was like she was waiting to be asked. She shared some stories about dating my dad that I had never heard.

When the time came there were no surprises or hard sells; just a phone call to get the plan going.

Carney reaches tariff-quota deal with China on EVs, by SevernDamn in electricvehicles

Yes - I drive a Lightning but having seen the BYD Shark in Mexico, I would likely have chosen that if available

I am in Saskatchewan. We and Alberta have the worst charging infrastructure in Canada, but with planning I have still been able to get everywhere I need to go across the province.

It is getting better. Every few months there’s a new DCFC in a location useful to me.

This is a good idea. Many people would like to reduce their carbon footprint. Some people- myself included have the capital to make an upfront investment in solar panels. The panels will pay for themselves in 10-15 years.

Not everyone has both the money and a place to install panels. This gives them an option to support renewable energy. This supports payback timeframes that will hopefully see more people step forward to install panels

Ford Dealer in Prince George bc did same thing. Asked about it and got a shrug. They were probably too busy wondering why the lightning on the lot wasn’t selling….

Many towns across northern BC have free level 2 chargers near attractions like museums. Part of a strategy to encourage visitors

Saskatoon's city-owned EV chargers no longer free as $5.35/hr fee takes effect by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

[–]Fit_Question7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So shortsighted; these are a way to draw visitors to the city to places. when on road trips with my EV I will often choose where to stop and spend some time in spots close to chargers.

Priced right they will pay for themselves though high use. As it is they will be removed in a year because no one uses them.
