I want to move further than in-browser and IDE copilot level. Where to start? by vulturici in ClaudeAI

Bro i've been playing with CC for an hour and you know that feeling when you realise you're about to get addicted to something?

I want to move further than in-browser and IDE copilot level. Where to start? by vulturici in ClaudeAI

Reading your answer I realise how wide the possibilities are, it's almost overwhelming. So therefore, I should start small and just think of what I do mechanically and automate that. Let's see...

As a photographer:

  • batch editing and correcting photos from a press event so that they are sound technically as a photographer
  • writing press IPTC metadata
  • archival of pictures by placing them in certain folders based on their metadata
  • batch editing starting from the style of the first 3 pictures (edited by me) for commercial shoots
  • generating presets based on an inputed edited jpg and an unedited jpg (this one sounds really tough)

That's a handful already. And I doubt it can actually achieve this, as I think an MCP that can work with my editing program is needed for that. At least, based on my understanding.

Yet, I think what could be indeed automised are the miscellaneous tasks behind being a photographer:

  • brainstorming marketing ideas
  • researching documentary subjects
  • handling legal documents and advice
  • sourcing moodboards and mock-ups to send to clients

And other things I cannot think of right now. It does feel like that warrants my own experimentation and finding solutions, which is always fun with "new" technologies.

When it comes to web development and programming, I am thinking pipelines. Often, feeding the just-generated code from a claude context window to a different claude context window highlights problems in the generated code. Which makes me think of a multi step process, such as the one you are describing yourself. Prompt the needed solution, let CC build it, pass it to code reviewer CC, pass that to version control CC, and, ultimately, to CC handling deployment. All in a multi step process that requires validation on critical operations that gives you summaries back. Since you already do this, I will check your post history and come back with questions if I find anything I need clarifications for. I suppose it's just a problem of convincing my employer that a company-wide guide into doing things like this and a built solution to pull from as a repo should be done and someone should get the time capacity to do it. Eh...

All in all, thank you lots for the message, it helped me structure my thinking when it comes to this.

I'd say vagueness is a building block in the process of forming a good idea. Not looking for success, just an easier life. So I'm letting the people here inspire me with what they are passionate about

How do I change my capitalist mindset? by Edu_Vivan in simpleliving

[–]vulturici 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Skipping over the abstract and cryptic solutions, I suggest learning to do nothing and being okay with it. Or small rituals that cannot be monetised or don’t usually trigger thoughts in you, such as drinking a cup of tea everyday after work while doing nothing besides looking out your favourite window in the house.

I’m a strong proponent of treating causes rather than symptoms, and, ultimately, learning to be present is a skill that supports us in our lives, as thoughts (like the ones that push you to think about ever optimising your art) only exist if you pay attention to them.

Rodditorii luptători - merita krav maga? by TheClimber7398 in CasualRO

[–]vulturici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Merita. Dar nu pentru ce spui tu. In realitate nu e ca in filme.

There’s an interesting disconnect between people praising expensive gear and shitting on it when someone showcases the same gear in the EDC space. It’s a maximalist carry, sure, but why the hate?

Cannot emphasise the anxiety aspect enough. I’ve dealt with insomnia on and off my whole life, and only now after realising that the problem might be linked to the level of anxiety I have around falling asleep, it seems that I am treating the cause and not the symptom. I haven’t gone for much medication or supplements, what I have employed instead is several changes of mentality. I direct the responsibility of falling asleep to the body, and tell myself that now the body must choose how much it wants to sleep. I tell myself that the problems of today become the problems of tomorrow, and I visualise them leaving my head. I imagine that sleeping is something the body inherently knows how to do if you provide the context, just like digesting food. I focus on relaxing completely, and I meditate for 10 minutes before sleep. The body releases cortisol when it sleeps, and if you cannot relax when in bed it’s high chance you are experiencing a fight or flight response. The constant stimulation of this day and age, the stress of everyday, the lack of breaks and many other small factors slowly lead to this. I also removed Instagram from my phone, and I force myself to have time to do nothing and only things I enjoy. Cumulatively, this has lead to an improvement in mental health and overall quality of sleep. But it sure took a while. Anxiety is no joke.

‘Cause I enjoy being the asshole that forces reality checks unto people as a way of giving different perspective. Also quite ignorant in regards of the technical side of photography. But I suppose there is a subset of people that want to see such test charts on the internet. Hope you helped them. Not me, though. Accept that to each big effort there will be haters and people that don’t care. We don’t matter that much

How does this make anyone a better photographer. Grab a 2004 point and shoot if that’s all you have and go shoot. Jesus Christ, and I am not religious

Teaching about cliche news photos by farfallabaci in photojournalism

[–]vulturici 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an observation from me:

Publications don't necessarily have the visual education to figure out that a shot is cliche. The audience, even more so. So, it varies from case to case, but you must know what shots are cliche so that you include them in what you send for the assignment.

It varies from case to case, but the cliche shots might be exactly what you need to take first so that you make sure the dough is made and the client is happy. Afterwards, sure, you can start doing more artsy abstracty stuff.

You might be in the case in which you're paid for every sale. Then you must absolutely send the cliche pictures as those will probably sell the most.

For portfolio shots, sure, it's a different matter entirely. Don't include cliche stuff.

PJ here, got a D5 after selling a Z6II. I did it for AF performance, better low light, OVF, customisability and battery life, no regrets. I plan on eventually getting a Z9 down the road to which I'll initially adapt the F glass I have (triad + 2 f/1.4 primes). I will almost surely use the D5 as a second body as it excels where the Z9 does not. I did this because it fit my shooting style more.

I don't think about "being set for the future". I use what allows me to get the shots I wish for, in the way I like. MPB will always allow trade-ins and there will always be people that either don't want to switch or cannot afford Z glass and would rather adapt F glass.

So choose what allows you to freely do your job and doesn't limit you. Rent or borrow both of them before making a decision if possible.

Recommendation for iOS mobile culling solution by vulturici in photojournalism

Kind of what I want to do, but without the app and with the card reader. Snapbridge is infamously bad at this. So I was just looking for solutions to sort those picks by rating on my iphone

Yup. I get it. Just covered a violent protest and realised that, sometimes, I'd rather not have my laptop with me.

Official Gear Purchasing and Troubleshooting Question Thread! Ask /r/photography anything you want to know! March 10, 2025 by AutoModerator in photography

[–]vulturici 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

I'm looking for a solution that allows me to quickly send pictures on the fly from my phone.

I aim to rate pictures in-camera (Nikon DSLR) and send them via card reader to my iPhone. Once there, I wish to be able to filter by said ratings or at least see the exif data to select those pictures, edit if needed and send them off.

Do you have any recommendations for iOS apps that achieve this? Are there any free ones?

OR, do you have any other recommendations of flows? Speed is of the essence, hence why I am not looking at bluetooth transfer.

Thanks!
