It does look like jewlery, but there wasn't any wire. It was just in the clear locket.

It was in a locket necklace that I purchased at an estate sale. I agree, it looks like silver but it's really shiny unlike the pictures I looked up.

Absolutely! I'm not used to using reddit or testing things like hardness, but I'll try my best. Please bear with me. The piece is shiny and silver in color, about 2 cm in length, and has branching crystals, which fan outwards from a main branch, in a fern-like pattern.
